Los principales diarios del mundo hoy coinciden en un mismo titular en forma llamativa: «El Plan de Paz de Trump desata la violencia entre israelíes y palestinos».
Desatar la violencia entre israelíes y palestinos se le llama al atropellamiento deliberado de un automóvil conducido por un palestino contra 14 soldados en una estación de micros. Tal vez se le dice al intento de acuchillamiento o disparos a policías en Jerusalén. Quizá imaginan que «desatar la violencia entre israelíes y palestinos» es enviar un racimo de globos con explosivos para que caiga en un jardín de infantes en el sur de Israel.
A todos los medios internacionales que consideran eso tengo una muy mala noticia para darles.
En enero de 2017 un terrorista palestino atropelló con un camión y mató a 4 soldados y dejó otras 15 personas heridas en Jerusalén este.
En Enero de 2014 un terrorista palestino armado con cuchillos llevó a cabo ataques en Israel, matando a una mujer y a un soldado.
En otro ataque, un palestino saltó de un automóvil en una parada de autobús en el asentamiento de la Orilla Occidental y acuchilló a tres personas, matando a una mujer israelí e hiriendo a dos más.
En agosto de 2014 Daniel Tregerman, un niño de cuatro años de edad, fue asesinado por un proyectil de mortero disparado desde Gaza que impactó en el jardín de su casa, en un kibutz en la región de Shaar Hanegev, mientras estaba jugando.
Y así podemos enumerar miles de atentados que sucedieron antes de «que se desate la violencia por el Plan de Paz de Estados Unidos». Elegí estos tres por la similitud de lo que pasó en estos días luego de que se «desatara la violencia por el Plan».
No se puede aceptar que los medios (o sus periodistas) minimicen el asedio terrorista que viene sufriendo Israel desde tiempo inmemoriales, que se ha cobrado vidas inocentes de ambos pueblos y que cuando hablan de «víctimas o jóvenes palestinos muertos», deben escribir también que fue en respuesta a un ataque. No es lo mismo.
El Plan de Paz es un aporte de un gobierno para tratar de acercar las partes. Obviamente debe ajustarse a las necesidades de ambos y los puntos en disidencia serán discutidos o no. Ha sido acompañado por muchos países del mundo y rechazado por otros. Esto quiere decir que no es inviable. Pero de lo que no hay dudas es que no «desató la violencia». La violencia se desató hace mucho tiempo y no se va a calmar mientras se pretenda la desaparición de Israel. Aunque le pese a los medios, o a algunos de sus periodistas.
