Las FDI anunciaron la muerte de dos reservistas durante los combates en la Franja de Gaza, elevando a 93 el número de soldados fallecidos en la ofensiva terrestre contra Hamás.
Ellos son: el sargento mayor. (res.) Naftali Yonah Gordon, 32 años, del 53.º Batallón de la 188.ª Brigada Blindada, de Jerusalén y el Sargento. Primera Clase (res.) Omri Rot, 25 años, comandante de tanque en el 53.º Batallón de la 188.ª Brigada Blindada, de Katzrin.
Otro soldado del 53.º Batallón resultó gravemente herido durante los combates en el norte de Gaza, indicaron las FDI.
Las fuerzas de las FDI -durante la mañana del viernes- realizaron operativos en la ciudad de Tubas, al norte de Shechem (Nablus), para arrestar a sospechosos de terrorismo. Además, se registraron cinco miembros extremistas que fueron dados de baja tras atacar a las tropas de Israel.
Durante la operación se produjeron intercambios de disparos entre las fuerzas de Tzáhal y los terroristas, que también arrojaron explosivos. Las fuerzas respondieron al fuego.
