La Torre de Descubrimiento de Salud (Health Discovery Tower) de 20 pisos, el cual costará 400 millones de SIN (Shekel Israelí Nacional) estará situada dentro del campus de Rambam y será financiada por los esfuerzos conjuntos de la Universidad de Haifa y de Rambam. La torre facilitará la colaboración entre los laboratorios de investigación y desarrollo de Rambam y las facultades de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Haifa. La torre también será el hogar de los laboratorios afiliados al Technion, así como incubadoras tecnológicas y otras instituciones de investigación.
La investigación llevada a cabo dentro de la Torre de Descubrimiento de Salud (Health Discovery Tower) forjará la colaboración entre la investigación clínica y las actividades médicas del hospital y el mundo de la investigación y la tecnología. También dará acceso a investigadores académicos a recursos clínicos esenciales, tales como dispositivos de imagen y equipos avanzados que generalmente sólo se encuentran dentro de hospitales.
Esta colaboración entre médicos, investigadores e ingenieros acortará significativamente el camino hacia el avance de la investigación y creará un terreno fértil para la innovación en la industria de las ciencias de la vida. Se diseñará de acuerdo con las normas oficiales de construcción «verde» (greenbuilding) con el fin de minimizar los daños al medio ambiente y reducir los residuos involucrados en la construcción. Se implementarán materiales y métodos eficientes energéticamente, así como planes para el uso del agua de lluvia.
El Rambam Health Care Campus (Campus de Atención Medica Rambam) y la Universidad de Haifa esperan que la Torre de Descubrimiento de Salud (Health Discovery Tower) sirva como un motor para el crecimiento económico y científico de la industria de las ciencias de la vida y para atraer a médicos e investigadores de Israel y del extranjero que buscan una combinación especial entre la medicina y la investigación.
