Así lo aseguró Moshe Yaalon, ministro de Defensa de Israel, en una entrevista que le otorgó al Canal 2 de la televisión israelí, en la que se refirió al diálogo con los palestinos y marcó su clara oposición a la liberación de terroristas que se encuentran en las cárceles del Estado Hebrero. «Abu Mazen es un socio que recibe pero que da. Él no es un socio para un acuerdo final que concluya con el reconocimiento del Estado de Israel», dijo.
«He descubierto que este conflicto es sobre toda la Palestina entera, que ellos no reconocen nuestro derecho a existir aquí… es imposible llegar a un acuerdo sin que exista un reconocimiento de la otra parte sobre nuestro derecho a existir [en nuestra tierra] como el hogar nacional del pueblo judío», señaló el titular de la cartera de Defensa quien acusó al titular de la Autoridad Palestina de estar «repitiendo el truco de Oslo, sin reconocimiento, sólo promesas».
A su vez, Yaalon también fue crítico con el Secretario de Estado de los Estados Unidos, John Kerry, y aseguró que condicionar las conversaciones de paz fue un «error».
