Una delegación de dos médicos y un ingeniero hidráulico del Centro Médico Sheba, llegó a Zambia, para ayudar a combatir un brote de cólera. Más de 60 personas en Zambia han muerto de cólera y se dice que más de 2.500 están infectadas desde septiembre, cuando la enfermedad comenzó a propagarse. El portavoz del hospital Sheba de Ramat Gan, dijo que Israel fue el primer país en enviar un equipo médico a Zambia.
