Un grupo de monitoreo de antisemitismo en Alemania está pidiendo a los operadores de una popular aplicación de teléfono celular que actúen, luego de que descubrió que los neonazis comenzaron a usar una nueva función en la aplicación para difundir imágenes pro nazis.
Recientemente, el popular servicio de mensajería Whatsapp, que es propiedad del gigante de los medios sociales Facebook, agregó una nueva función, que permite a los usuarios cargar imágenes digitales personalizadas o «pegatinas» y compartirlas con otros usuarios.
Sin embargo, poco después de su debut en el nuevo largometraje, los nacionalistas de extrema derecha y los grupos neonazis de Alemania comenzaron a utilizar el sistema de adhesivos de Whatsapp para crear y difundir imágenes pro nazis.
El Foro judío para la democracia y contra el antisemitismo ( JFDA – Jüdisches Forum für Demokratie und gegen Antisemitismus ) dijo que los neo-nazis y los supremacistas blancos utilizaban la función de etiqueta para inundar las charlas grupales con símbolos odiosos.
«Justo después de que WhatsApp hace posible crear y usar pegatinas, los extremistas de derecha inundan sus chats grupales con odiosos símbolos nazis», dijo la JFDA en un tweet el jueves pasado.
Whatsapp condenó el uso de la nueva función de pegatinas y le dijo al periódico German Bild que alentaba a los usuarios a presentar quejas por el uso de contenido ilegal. Las exhibiciones públicas de símbolos nazis están prohibidas en Alemania.
“Estas pegatinas antisemitas son inaceptables y no las queremos en WhatsApp. Condenamos enérgicamente este odio. Si los usuarios obtienen adhesivos con contenido ilegal, les pedimos que lo denuncien. «Actuaremos en consecuencia contra esto, incluso en la medida de bloquear las cuentas desde las que se enviaron».
