En sus comentarios en las redes sociales y en algunos medios, Bolsonaro usó repetidamente los términos “nueva relación entre nuestras dos naciones” y “nuevos tiempos entre nuestros gobiernos”. Su interés explícito en el desarrollo tecnológico israelí y su avance en varias áreas, unido a su condición de persona profundamente creyente, sentó las bases para una actitud muy distinta de la de sus antecesores con respecto a Israel. “Israel es una referencia mundial en tecnología para diversos servicios y eso nos interesa”, escribió el nuevo Presidente hace ya varios días en su cuenta de Twitter.
“No hay razón para criticar el diálogo, mucho menos cuando la crítica viene de quien nada hizo, sólo destrucción y robo del país. Queremos lo mejor para Brasil y para la población brasilera!”. Y cuando Netanyahu estaba por arribar, escribió: “Espero la llegada del Primer Ministro Netanyahu. Nos reuniremos y discutiremos nuevos rumbos para nuestras naciones. Las expectativas son las mejores para este momento inédito de nuestra historia”. El tuit quedó adornado con las banderas de Brasil e Israel.
Durante la muy exitosa visita de Netanyahu a Brasil, fueron varias las estaciones singulares: el encuentro con la comunidad judía en una sinagoga de Río de Janeiro acompañado por Bolsonaro, la comida y el fútbol improvisado en la playa de Copacabana, el encuentro con cristianos evangélicos a los que Netanyahu llamó de “hermanos y hermanas” y este martes, el arribo a Brasilia, en medio de grandes honores
