Gran encendido de las velas de Jánuca en la ciudad de Buenos Aires

Una vez más, la ciudad de Buenos Aires se verá iluminada por el enorme candelabro de Januca, llevando a sus habitantes el mensaje de que el bien y la luz, al final, siempre triunfan sobre la oscuridad.

El Lunes 23 de diciembre, por 35to año consecutivo, en la Plaza República Oriental del Uruguay a las 20 horas, se celebrará Januca en comunidad, encendiendo la segunda vela y recordando los milagros que Di-s hizo a nuestros antepasados.

Como ya es tradición, miles de personas se acercan a la Plaza para presenciar el encendido de la Janukiá por personalidades destacadas de la comunidad, el Gobierno de la Ciudad y la Embajada de Israel y participar de las actividades para todas las edades, el show en vivo y fuegos artificiales.

Jánuca es la reconocida “Fiesta de las Luminarias”, en la que celebramos los milagros ocurridos hace más de 2000 años en la Tierra de Israel: la victoria del pequeño ejército judío sobre el Emperador greco-sirio, la recuperación del Templo Sagrado de Jerusalem, y el haber contado con aceite puro para encender la Menorá del Templo por ocho días, cuando realmente alcanzaba para uno solo.

Para conmemorar y hacer públicos estos milagros, en cada hogar judío se enciende el Candelabro de Janucá en cada una de las ocho noches de la festividad.

El 1974, se encendió la primera Menorá pública, en Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, EEUU.

Hoy, más de 15.000 Janukiot gigantes son encendidas en plazas, centros comerciales, aeropuertos y otros espacios públicos alrededor del mundo, decenas de ellas en la Argentina. En caso de lluvia, se reprogramará al jueves 26.


¿Qué es Januca?

Januca es el reflejo de los milagros. Que el ejército macabeo haya podido derrotar al Emperador hace más de 20 siglos, quien los superaba en cantidad y en artillería, fue realmente milagroso. En segunda instancia, lograron encender la Menorá durante ocho días con una sola vasija de aceite puro, que solo duraría para una jornada.

Los macabeos combatieron la fuerza de la oscuridad con espadas, nosotros lo hacemos hoy sumando luz. La oscuridad es la ausencia de luz, por lo tanto cualquier luz significa el final de la oscuridad.

Cualquier esfuerzo, cualquier cambio, cualquier iluminación que creamos recorre un largo camino trascendental en nuestra vida y los demás. Compartí tu luz.

Comidas típicas:

Frito: es una tradición comer alimentos que reflejen el significado de la festividad, como la manzana con miel en Rosh Hashaná y los Oznei Hamán en Purim. Janucá no es una excepción: el aceite jugó un papel importante en la historia de Janucá, por lo tanto, acostumbramos a comer alimentos fritos en Janucá.

Lácteo: también es costumbre comer alimentos lácteos, para conmemorar a Iehudit, la valiente mujer cuyo osado coraje llevó a la gran victoria de los Macabeos http://www.jabad.org.ar

El Dréidel (la perinola):

También conocido como “Sevivon”, este juego nos ayuda a recordar el coraje de los valientes niños, quienes se escondieron en cuevas para poder estudiar Torá tras la prohibición de Epífanes. Al acercarse los soldados griegos, los niños sacaban el Dréidel y simulaban estar jugando.

El Dréidel (del Idish “drei”, dar vuelta) tiene cuatro caras, con una de las letras hebreas Nun, Guímel, Hei, Shin, iniciales de “Nes Gadol Haia Sham” (un gran milagro ocurrió allí) tallada en cada una de ellas.

Janucá Guelt:

En Janucá se acostumbra dar monedas (guelt) a los niños. Una de las razones es que la palabra hebrea Janucá viene de la misma raíz que la palabra Jinuj (educación). En esta festividad focalizamos nuestra atención en la educación judía de nuestros niños: les regalamos dinero y les enseñamos a dar una parte a caridad.
