El rabino Fishel Szlajen, director del Departamento de Cultura de la AMIA, recibió una carta oficial de reconocimiento del Ministerio de Asuntos para la Diáspora en el Estado de Israel.
La misma, firmada por su titular, la ministra Omer Yankelevitch, reconoce y agradece el importante y relevante trabajo realizado de forma interreligiosa y en favor del bien común. Y destaca que se le da luz a la comunidad global en esta emergencia, bajo normas bioéticas y sus prácticas, asegurando principios éticos fundamentales.
La Legislatura porteña, por impulso del diputado Claudio Romero, declaró su beneplácito al Marco Bioético de las religiones monoteístas para la actuación frente al COVID-19. Le otorgó relevancia a los criterios humanitarios establecidos por una comisión interreligiosa de expertos para la selección y clasificación de los pacientes en servicios de urgencia y la asignación de recursos vitales.
El documento interreligioso describe los procedimientos y las acciones a tomar. Además, sus fundamentos para una justa y óptima planificación, clasificación y asignación de recursos sanitarios vitales ante la saturación del sistema sanitario. Esta situación, además, hace que concurran la urgencia y el hacinamiento, más la angustia física y psicológica tanto del paciente como del personal sanitario.

En este sentido, varios establecimientos del AMBA ya han tomado dicho documento como bibliografía de referencia. La utilizan para responder a los dilemas éticos del personal sanitario en este contexto de emergencia. Entre ellos, el Sanatorio Finochietto (CABA), Hospital Británico (CABA), Hospital Álvarez (CABA), Hospital Alemán (CABA) y Hospital El Cruce (Florencio Varela).
El documento había sido elaborado el pasado 13 de mayo por los profesionales bioeticistas más reconocidos de las confesiones monoteístas mayoritarias de nuestro país.
Los participantes y firmantes de este histórico documento son los convocados por el Instituto de Bioética de la Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). El mismo es dirigido por el Pbro. Lic. Rubén Revello: el Rabino Dr. Fishel Szlajen por el Judaísmo; el Imam Marwan Sarwar Gill por el Islam; el Pr. Lic. Gabriel Ballerini por las Iglesias Evangélicas, y el Élder Mg. Benjamín De Hoyos Estrada por los Mormones.

El Ministerio de Asuntos de la Diáspora aprecia y agradece su destacada contribución al campo de la bioética para el bien común de la sociedad.
Al observar la necesidad de orientación y guía por parte de la sociedad para abordar y resolver desafíos éticos urgentes, usted, el Rabino Dr. Fishel Szlajen, junto con otros bioeticistas y líderes religiosos, asumió esta gran responsabilidad. El «Marco Bioético de las Religiones Monoteístas en ocasión del Covid-19», que ha sido aprobado por la Legislatura de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, fue desarrollado para iluminar e informar a la sociedad sobre la base de pautas éticas universales precisamente en un momento en que la humanidad se enfrenta a una crisis global.
Reconocemos que su importante trabajo al infundir los principios judíos y universales de la bioética es un esfuerzo valioso para abordar las necesidades globales a través del concepto de “Tikkun Olam” (reparación del mundo). Un trabajo importante como el suyo contribuye al campo de la medicina y al mundo en general.
