Tel Aviv es una hermosa y moderna ciudad, al borde del Mar Mediterráneo, con bellísimas playas. Se encuentra en construcción y remodelación permanente con un subterráneo que la habrá de recorrer una vez terminado en unos pocos meses más. Pero en esta nota no haremos promoción turística sino divulgación de los valiosos y trascendentales museos que no deben dejar de visitarse.
Ben Gurion House (Casa de Ben Gurion)
Sabemos que se trata de la casa de quien fuera el que declaró, contra viento y marea, la Independencia del Estado de Israel. Como Primer Ministro encaró la Guerra de 1948/49 emprendida y financiada por 6 países árabes en la cual murió el 1% de la población judía de aquel entonces (6.337). Asimismo ha tenido que intervenir en la Guerra del Sinaí de 1956 debido a los arteros ataques de los fedayines armados por Egipto, gobernada por el Presidente Gamal Abdel Nasser.
La casa de David Ben Gurion en Tel Aviv posee una Biblioteca impresionante cuya principal formación se refiere a las relaciones internacionales, tomos obtenidos por sus múltiples encuentros con líderes y estadistas de todas las naciones del mundo.
Debemos mencionar también que Ben Gurion poseía otro hogar en Sde Boker, en el Neguev, convertido a partir de su fallecimiento en un segundo Museo a su nombre.
Bait Haetzel (Casa del Irgún)
Este museo recuerda a la “Organización Militar Nacional en la Tierra de Israel” que con la Haganá, el Leji y el Palmaj lucharon, al mismo tiempo, contra las Fuerzas Británicas a fin de lograr la liberación y soberanía del Estado Judío.
La labor política y el ideario de Zeev Jabotinsky y la denodada acción y voluntad de Menajem Beiguin fueron fundamentales en el sendero de la rebelión contra el Imperio Británico que no estaba cumpliendo con la “Declaración Balfour” ni con el “Mandato de San Remo” de la Sociedad de Naciones Unidas.
No podemos dejar de evocar que la ciudad de Yafo, el lugar donde se levanta esta edificación, fue de vital importancia para la Guerra de Liberación de 1948/49. La ciudad estaba ocupada por las milicias árabes respaldadas por los ingleses. El Irgún asumió la responsabilidad de conquistar la zona ya que, por el puerto aledaño, podrían desembarcar tropas y armamento egipcio para bombardear, capturar y ocupar la ciudad de Tel Aviv. Con una excepcional logística, una lucha valiente y la pérdida de muchos combatientes Yafo pudo ser liberada, evitando así lo que hubiera sido una debacle táctica y estratégica trágica.
Itzjak Rabin Center (Centro Itzjak Rabin)
Este Centro está construido en forma circular descendente narrando a medida que se avanza, de manera interactiva, la trayectoria del ex Primer Ministro, desde su niñez hasta su deplorable y doloroso asesinato en 1995 efectuado por un ultra extremista fanático. El Rabin militar, sabra de nacimiento (nacido en Jerusalem en 1922), llegó a convertirse en el 7º. Jefe del Estado Mayor de las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) y participó en todas las guerras que Israel ha tenido que soportar. El Rabin político fue Primer Ministro en el momento de elaborarse y firmarse los Acuerdos de Oslo de 1993. Debido al mencionado Acuerdo le fue otorgado el Premio Nobel de la Paz junto con Shimon Peres y Yasser Arafat. En su funeral asistieron líderes de todo el mundo, incluyendo al de varios países árabes, que lo reconocían como un forjador de la paz en el Medio Oriente.
ANU
Proviene de la palabra “anajnu”, es decir “nosotros”, los judíos del Kibutz Galuiot (Reunión de las Diásporas), ya que este museo moderno e interactivo representa la historia de todos los judíos del mundo, que en la unidad muestra las numerosas diversidades que abarcan desde las diferencias de origen, étnicas, religiosas, sexuales, culturales, culinarias, literarias, musicales, etc.
ANU fue construida dentro del campus de la Universidad de Tel Aviv reemplazando en cierto modo al anterior museo conocido de Beit Hatfutsot que ahora ha quedado radicado en el primer piso de los tres que lo componen. En realidad es la Historia del Pueblo Judío donde se destacan las obras creativas y la riqueza cultural de la Comunidades judías en diferentes períodos de la historia.
Beit Hapalmaj (Museo del Palmaj)
Antes de la Constitución del Estado de Israel el Palmaj fue una de las cuatro organizaciones paramilitares judías mencionadas en la lucha contra la ocupación británica. Era una Fuerza compuesta primordialmente por integrantes de los kibutzim con un vínculo espiritual y de compañerismo que lo agrupaba y lo diferenciaba de las otras. Una vez declarada la Independencia del Estado de Israel todas estas agrupaciones fueron fusionadas en un solo Ejército, el Tzahal o Ejército de Defensa de Israel (FDI).
Peres Center for Peace and Innovation
Es una Organización no gubernamental independiente a nombre de Shimon Peres, el que fuera uno de los puntales del desarrollo logístico y armamentístico para la Defensa del Estado Judío. Como Primer Ministro, junto con su adjunto y futuro reemplazante Isaac Shamir, elaboraron en 1985 el exitoso Plan Económico que ha convertido a Israel en una pequeña potencia económica-financiera. Acompañando al Primer Ministro Itzjak Rabin recibió el Nobel de la Paz por los Acuerdos de Oslo 93.
Su libro “La Honda de David” refleja cómo Israel fue convirtiéndose en una potencia militar. Su otro texto “Oriente Medio, Año Cero” fue un anticipo visionario de los que hoy son “Los Acuerdos de Abraham” ya que previó los crecientes intercambios comerciales y tecnológicos, a todo nivel, con los países árabes que, en aquel entonces eran inimaginables.
Estos son solo algunos de los museos de la “ciudad blanca” de Tel Aviv con profundos vínculos judíos y sionistas que valen la pena visitar.
