Este jueves se llevó a cabo el funeral de la argentina-israelí Silvia Mirensky, asesinada durante una incursión de terroristas de Hamas el pasado 7 de octubre en los salvajes ataques en el sur de Israel.
Mirensky vivía en el kibutz (granja agrícola colectiva) Ein Hashloshá, a 17 kilómetros de Gaza. En el ataque, se incendió su casa y ella no alcanzó a salir.
“Me estoy quemando, me estoy ahogando”. Eso fue lo último que le dijo por teléfono a su hijo. Estaba en el cuarto de seguridad de su casa del kibutz. Una explosión había roto el vidrio del cuarto de seguridad y por allí entró un objeto -fuentes cercanas al kibutz dijeron a Infobae que fue una garrafa- que le prendió fuego. Tenía 80 años y había nacido en Buenos Aires.
Las imágenes de su último adiós este jueves en el kibutz Shefayim fueron muy conmovedoras, en especial el momento en que una de sus nietas tomó el micrófono para dedicarle unas palabras a su abuela.
El ataúd luego fue enterrado envuelto con la bandera de Israel.
Desde Israel, Zulema, una de las hermanas de Silvia contó a Infobae lo que la familia pudo reconstruir: “En la madrugada del sábado, los palestinos rompieron el cerco e irrumpieron en la zona. Gritaban, filmaban lo que hacían. Entraron a Ein Hashloshá golpeando puerta por puerta. Allí viven mis dos hermanas, Silvia y Esther. La casa de Silvia está cerca del borde del kibutz”.
Silvia -según cuenta Zulema- corrió al cuarto de seguridad que casi todas las casas israelíes tienen. Pasó la noche y temprano, cuando no oía más ruido, salió a desayunar. “Ella quedó viuda hace un año y estaba muy nerviosa”, dice Zulema. Entonces se oyó un estallido y Silvia volvió a correr hacia adentro. Pero la explosión había quebrado justamente el cuarto de seguridad. “No sabemos exactamente qué tiraron, son conjeturas, pero fue como una bomba que inició el fuego, la realidad es que la quemaron viva. Eran las 9 de la mañana».
Después, silencio e incertidumbre. Estaba cortada la electricidad, los llamados no entraban. “Recién a la tarde pudimos confirmar lo que había pasado”.
Mirensky había llegado a Israel con su marido Saúl Hugo Mirensky un hijo de 4 años y otro de 6. Fue unos meses antes de la Guerra de Iom Kipur, en 1973. Se instalaron en Ashkelon, otra ciudad al sur del país, y en 1978 se mudaron al kibutz, una de las tantas granjas colectivas del país; en este caso una en la que se asentaron muchos argentinos y uruguayos.
