El Ejército de Israel avanza a paso firme sobre el centro de la Franja de Gaza, su nuevo objetivo, mientras mantiene sus operaciones en el sur y el norte, donde además lleva a cabo tareas de limpieza de la infraestructura de Hamas.
En los últimos días, gracias a sus victorias en el centro del enclave palestino, las Fuerzas de Defensa pudieron dar con importantes bastiones enemigos y asegurar que, próximamente, los desbaratarán por completo.
“Los batallones de los campamentos centrales se enfrentan, actualmente, a la fuerza de las FDI. Dejarán de funcionar como han dejado de funcionar otros batallones”, prometió el comandante de la 36 División que trabaja en la zona, el general de brigada Dado Bar Kalifa.
Uno de estos grupos que el Ejército busca eliminar es el de al-Bureij, compuesto por unos 1.000 combatientes, que opera en el centro de la Franja. Es, sin embargo, uno sólo de los cuatro batallones de Hamas allí. Los restantes tres son Deir al Balah, Maghazi y Nuseirat, y ya han sufrido daños en ataques israelíes pasados, incluido uno que acabó con la vida del comandante de la brigada de estos campamentos centrales, Ayman Nofel.

Las FDI continúan con sus ataques sobre los cuatro principales batallones del centro de la Franja, para eliminarlos por completo (EFE)De todas formas, estas ofensivas no evitaron que siguieran funcionando en gran medida por lo que las FDI están concentrando sus esfuerzos en anularlos definitivamente y poder hacerse con el control total de la región.

Así, en sus primeras horas de operaciones terrestres en al-Bureij, las tropas de la Brigada Bislamach lograron localizar un pozo que conducía a un túnel con entrada a la extensa red de pasos subterráneos que los terroristas usan para moverse sin ser detectados. También se identificó un campo de entrenamiento.
Estas noticias llegan luego de intensos combates en el norte y el sur de la Franja, donde el Ejército luchó en condiciones difíciles para poder neutralizar terroristas y eliminar las amenazas.
“Los combates en Shejaiya fueron difíciles y complejos y, durante ellos, conseguimos importantes logros. Shejaiya ya no será un centro de terror para Hamas”, celebró Bar Kalifa sobre este barrio -uno de los bastiones de Hamas- en el que se libró una de las mayores batallas de las últimas semanas de la guerra.

Por su parte, el jefe de las FDI, Herzi Halevi, dijo que la guerra “continuará durante muchos meses más” y “trabajaremos con diferentes métodos para que nuestros logros se mantengan durante mucho tiempo”.
