La familia de Nimrod Cohen, soldado de las FDI cautivo en Gaza, publicó nuevas imágenes del momento de su secuestro, el 7 de octubre de 2023.
Las imágenes, encontradas recientemente por las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel, muestran cómo Hamás secuestró a Cohen y se lo llevó a la Franja de Gaza.
Tras revelar las imágenes, la familia Cohen llevó a cabo una conferencia de prensa este lunes en el Foro de Familiares de Secuestrados en Tel Aviv.

Vicki Cohen, madre de Nimrod, afirmó: “Decidimos mostrarle al mundo este video hoy para mostrar la crueldad y la agresión con la que Hamás secuestró a mi hijo hace casi dos años. Es un alma bondadosa que ha estado en manos de terroristas durante casi dos años. Está bajo tierra, aislado de sus amigos y familiares. No sabemos si come ni si tiene heridas. Han pasado casi dos años e innumerables negociaciones fallidas que podrían haberlo devuelto a casa”.
“Lo que están viendo es la peor pesadilla de cualquier madre en Israel. Mi hijo indefenso fue secuestrado y arrastrado brutalmente al infierno, y como madre, no puedo hacer nada más que observar con total impotencia los gritos desgarradores de mi amado hijo”, añadió.
Además, expresó: “Gobierno israelí, primer ministro y ministros: pónganse en mi lugar, una madre que lleva 689 noches y días sin respirar. No tienen derecho a impedir que mi hijo regrese a casa. Deben garantizar que el acuerdo sea integral”.

El hermano de Nimrod, Yotam, dijo: “Hace apenas una semana, Hamás dio una respuesta positiva al acuerdo que se está discutiendo: un acuerdo parcial que liberaría a 10 rehenes vivos y 18 rehenes fallecidos. Este acuerdo podría haberse firmado hace una semana y podría concretarse ahora mismo. Sin embargo, en medio de estas negociaciones para un acuerdo parcial, y en medio de las discusiones en curso sobre el fin de la guerra, el gobierno de Netanyahu se niega a firmarlo”.
“Esto no nos deja otra opción que publicar este horrible video de mi hermano menor Nimrod, para mostrar al público —tanto al pueblo israelí como a la comunidad internacional— lo que los rehenes han padecido y siguen sufriendo casi dos años después de su secuestro el 7 de octubre. El mundo debe ver lo que está sucediendo. El público israelí debe ver lo que está sucediendo”, concluyó.
Varios secuestrados que regresaron testificaron que, durante varios meses, Cohen estuvo retenido en una pequeña jaula para animales. A su vez, como soldado, sufrió interrogatorios extremadamente duros y torturas por parte de los terroristas.
También informaron que Cohen sufre de una enfermedad de la piel y un sarpullido en todo el cuerpo. También se cree que sufre de una infección de oído.
Nimrod fue secuestrado de un tanque en llamas, asaltado por terroristas, y se convirtió en uno de los símbolos de la masacre del 7 de octubre. Hamás asesinó a su comandante de tanque, Omer Neutra, el cargador, Oz Daniel, y el conductor, Shaked Dahan.
