En las librerías de Rusia sacaron el libro de «Maus» escrito por el estadounidense Art Spiegelman por tener en su portada una esvástica. El libro relata la historia del Holocausto con chanchos y ratas.

Las autoridades rusas se han propuesto censurar insgnias nazis, incluso el decomiso de juguetes y tiendas de antigüedades que contengan parafernalia de la época, citando una ley que prohíbe la «propaganda nazi» que fue aprobada en diciembre pasado. La editora en jefe del grupo editorial ruso Corpus, Varvara Gornostayeva, expresó: «No hay propaganda nazi en Maus, este es un libro que debe estar en los estantes en el Día de la Victoria».
