Spielberg es el coproductor ejecutivo de una nueva serie de seis partes llamada «Why We Hate», que se estrenó el domingo en Discovery Channel. La serie examina el odio y cómo podemos combatirlo y comparte historias personales de aquellos que odian y son blanco del odio. La serie argumenta que el odio es parte de la naturaleza humana y está en nuestro ADN.

«Este ha sido un tema que ha estado muy cerca de mí personalmente y un tema que parece ser aún más relevante hoy en comparación a hace 10 años», explicó Spielberg a CBS News . «Creo que el odio es lo anormal constante». También le dijo a la estación de noticias que fue intimidado como estudiante de secundaria durante algún tiempo.
