Diálogos para preparar el futuro”, organizado por la Fundación Isalud y el Centro sobre Envejecimiento Activo y Longevidad (CEAL).

“Este seminario internacional, propone reunir las experiencias y la información de destacados profesionales de nuestro país y del exterior. Para reflexionar en conjunto sobre las lecciones aprendidas y también sobre los errores que se cometieron. Para construir un futuro con el máximo respeto a la dignidad, equidad, justicia y autonomía de las personas mayores”, explicaron los promotores de esta iniciativa.

El aislamiento social, preventivo y obligatorio dispuesto por el Poder Ejecutivo para contener el avance de la pandemia por COVID-19, trazó un escenario de incertidumbre y temor. Pero también mostró el aspecto solidario de la sociedad.
El área de Voluntariado, que depende del departamento de Programas Sociales de AMIA, fue uno de los tantos ámbitos en los que el altruismo y el interés por cooperar en este difícil momento se pudieron canalizar a través de diferentes proyectos.
Bajo la coordinación de Eliana Epelbaum y supervisión de Fanny Kohon, el área adaptó rápidamente su actividad ni bien se declaró el aislamiento interpersonal.
“La situación que estamos viviendo trajo nuevas problemáticas para todos, pero especialmente para las personas mayores”, advierte Epelbaum. “Esto se debe no solo por sus condiciones físicas, sino porque quedan separadas del resto de las personas con las que hacían sus actividades cotidianas”.
