¿Qué tienen en común un hospital, ambulancias y médicos con un terrorista? (VIDEOS)

La organización terrorista Hamás específicamente elige utilizar hospitales, ambulancias y médicos con el objetivo de llevar a cabo ataques contra Israel y al mismo tiempo protegerse de los ataques de las FDI. De esta forma, Hamás busca poner a Israel en el foco de la atención pública cuando el ejército israelí se ve obligado a responder al fuego disparado por terroristas desde estas zonas.

Hospital de Wafa: centro de comando de Hamás y sitio de lanzamiento de cohetes

Hamás transformó el Hospital Wafa, un edificio civil en el vecindario de Shuja’iya en Gaza, en una de sus mayores fortalezas: allí poseen un centro de comando, sitio de lanzamiento de cohetes, observatorio, puestos de francotiradores y almacén de armas. Además, en este lugar se esconden puntos de accesos a túneles y se llevan a cabo una gran cantidad de ataques contra Israel y nuestras fuerzas. En reiteradas ocasiones, Hamás ha disparado misiles antitanques desde las ventanas del hospital. De esta forma, Hamás deliberada y cínicamente convierte al hospital en un objetivo militar legítimo.

En respuesta a esta amenaza, el ejército israelí envió en reiteradas ocasiones advertencias al personal del hospital, funcionarios palestinos y organizaciones de ayuda internacional, incluida la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), solicitando que evacuen el área para evitar que el hospital siga siendo utilizado con propósitos terroristas y advirtiendo que las FDI se verán obligadas a actuar en caso que los ataques continúen. Pero las actividades de Hamás no cesaron y las FDI advirtieron a todos los civiles a abandonar el área.

Más específicamente, el 23 de julio Hamás continuaba con el lanzamiento de cohetes desde el hospital. El ejército israelí nuevamente realizó una llamada de advertencia, y luego de confirmar que no se encontraban civiles presentes en el edificio, alcanzó la infraestructura y a los terroristas que se encontraban dentro del hospital.

El siguiente video muestra los cohetes disparados por los terroristas, las llamadas de advertencia de las FDI, el ataque aéreo y las explosiones secundarias: éstas confirman que dentro del edificio se encontraba más armamento.

Además de convertir hospitales en grandes fortalezas, Hamás también utiliza ambulancias para transportar a sus combatientes. En la mañana del 22 de julio, durante un enfrentamiento entre las FDI y terroristas de Hamás, nuestras fuerzas abatieron a diez de ellos. El resto, utilizó una ambulancia para escapar del tiroteo. Para evitar la posibilidad de bajas civiles, el ejército israelí no atacó a la ambulancia. Ver:


Minimizar el daño a los civiles

Las FDI realizan todo los esfuerzos para minimizar el daño a la población civil en la Franja de Gaza. Esto incluye facilitar la prestación de servicios médicos a través de la Administración de Enlace Civil que coordina estas actividades con las organizaciones internacionales que operan en la Franja de Gaza, también facilita la transferencia de suministros médicos a Gaza a través de los cruces fronterizos y permite entrar a Israel a personas con emergencias médicas para recibir atención médica. El ejército israelí también ha establecido un hospital de campaña en el cruce fronterizo de Erez para facilitar la atención a los civiles gazatíes heridos.

Las FDI continuaremos con nuestros esfuerzos de minimizar el daño a la población civil gazatí y en garantizar que sólo objetivos militares sean atacados en conformidad con el derecho internacional; mientras que instalaciones médicas y vehículos sigan siendo utilizados para fines militares, son susceptibles a perder su protección contra los ataques según el derecho internacional.
