El nuevo presidente de la Organización Sionista Argentina, Sergio Pikholtz, que asumirá junto a la nueva comisión directiva el próximo miércoles, dialogó con la CADENA JUDÍA DE INFORMACIÓN VIS A VIS acerca de este nuevo desafío que le toca emprender. Después de ser presidente del Centro Hebreo Iona, ahora estará a cargo de una institución central con graves problemas económicos y con un «cambio de paradigma» que esperan lograr en estos tres años de gestión que le quedán por delante.
Además se refirió a los ejes centrales que abordarán en términos de proyectos e hizo referencia al viaje que tienen previsto a Israel a principios de noviembre para ir a presentar proyectos a distintas organizaciones.
– ¿Por qué decidiste embarcarte en este desafío de presidir la OSA en un momento complicado que atraviesa la institución?
– Esto fue una discusión interna del movimiento conservador bastante interesante y profunda. Nosotros lo que creíamos es que nos estábamos enfrentando a un dilema único en la historia del sionismo en la Argentina que era seguir en el mismo esquema o buscar cambio de profundo de hacer el trabajo que le corresponde a la OSA. Dentro del movimiento se esta dando una renovación dirigencial importante con un trabajo bastante serio en lo que respecta a los niveles de la representatividad y demás. Y cuando el movimiento comenzó a discutir formalmente si nos interesaba ser los actores principales de la conformación del nuevo gobierno de la OSA me propusieron participar. Fundamentalmente por que yo vengo de una comunidad, IONA, donde el desarrollo de los programas sobre el sionismo son muy fuertes y de los comunitarios los más importantes que tenemos. Lo analizamos profundamente porque no voy a ser yo un descubridor de las circunstancias en las cuales se encuentra la OSA, por las causas que sean, pero también entendimos que había un desafío importante en poder cambiar el paradigma de la OSA, redefinir sus objetivos, trabajar seriamente en las competencias reales de la institución y modernizarla.
Yo estoy en un momento de la vida en donde puedo asumir este desafío en mi desarrollo profesional personal he cumplido con muchos de los objetivos que me he propuesto. En lo comunitario me ha tocado conducir una institución (IONA), participar de la vida del movimiento conservador masortí; ser el secretario general de Mercaz, que es el brazo político del movimiento. También participé en la conformación de la lista de la DAIA el año pasado, que no ganamos. Me parece que es un interesante desafío, pero a la vez estábamos convencidos que lo que necesitábamos era formar una coalición, en soledad hubiera sido imposible.
– Hablaste de cambiar el paradigma de la OSA, a ¿qué te referís?
– Las organizaciones centrales y la OSA, que es claramente, una de las tres principales organizaciones de la comunidad judía, han atravesado diversas épocas de la Argentina. Fueron creados en un momento, llevaron su trabajo a través de la historia de nuestro país que no ha sido sencilla: los atentados, la dictadura y los desaparecidos. Todos esos no son temas livianos y nos atraviesan profundamente. En el caso específico de la OSA, se da la particularidad que fue creada con los albores del Estado de Israel, cuando el sionismo era una cosa distinta. En ese sentido creo que la OSA debe acomodarse a la realidad de este momento. Para mí hay tres factores que son fundamentales: la judeofobia, que adquirió otras formas distintas a las que tenía y hoy esta claramente identificada con el odio al país judío (Israel). Antes el accionar político era tenemos un problema con los judíos y aspiramos a su desaparición. Ahora es políticamente incorrecto ese pensamiento, pero se canaliza al odio al país judío, que es casi lo mismo. Por eso la OSA tiene que trabajar más seriamente en ese tema, hay que redoblar el esfuerzo; modernizar los planes de trabajo para afrontar este tema.
El segundo factor esta relacionado a las redes sociales y a la información vía web, que es fundamental, porque no solo la gente se informa a través de Internet, sino también por que las nuevas generaciones de directivos comunitarios van a salir de la generación digital. La que todo lo hace a través de lo digital. Entonces es importantes sumar esfuerzos en ese sentido. Por último consideró que la OSA tiene que ser dinámica, adaptarse a los cambios permanentemente, ser coherentes con las razones por las cuales fue creada, pero al mismo tiempo, coherente con las necesidades del hoy. Esta necesidad de cambio, renovación y modificación del paradigma no es: «Somos sionistas y lo decimos, sino trabajamos para la difusión de los valores judíos y del Estado de Israel en el terreno de la ciencia, las artes y vanguardia de democracia en Medio Oriente». Creo que son valores que requieren que se trabaje profundamente en ellos.
– ¿Qué opinión tenes de la gestión de Danny Lew?
– A Danny lo conozco hace muchos años y tengo un afecto personal por él, más allá de la gestión en la OSA. Yo no estuve en la gestión anterior pero creo que Danny encontró sus dificultades a la hora de asumir y trató de desarrollar un trabajo coherente con su línea de pensamiento y con su desarrollo personal. Yo creo que no soy quien para juzgar lo que fue su trabajo. Creo que siempre es para aplaudir y destacar gente que pone su tiempo, energía al servicio de las organizaciones comunitarias en forma voluntaria. La azkanut es el alma del pueblo judío, claramente, y las personas que fuimos madrijim en algún momento de nuestras vidas marcamos una diferencia importante en lo que es el desarrollo de los liderazgos con cualquier otra sociedad que queramos evaluar. En ese sentido, le agradezco a Danny los esfuerzos hechos en los dos años que le tocó ser presidente de la OSA a él y a su comisión directiva, muchos de los cuales siguen hoy, y esperemos ser continuadores de lo que se hizo bien y podes hacer las mejoras que nosotros creemos que podemos llevar adelante.
– Las instituciones como la OSA se dividen entre lo importante y lo urgente. Hoy lo urgente en la OSA es la situación económica, ya que hay deuda con empleados y además tienen que arreglar cuestiones con bancos, ¿qué plan tienen para los próximos seis meses para tratar de equilibrar la institución?
– Como bien dijiste la OSA tiene una urgencia económica/financiera. Hemos conformado un equipo de tesorería que creo que es bastante interesante y bien desarrollado: Luis Nimhauser, tesorero, que es también una de las personas de confianza de Mercaz y del movimiento conservador. Creo que es una persona efectiva para lograr orden inmediato en lo administrativo, contable, financiero y económico. Todavía no fuimos al hueso de la situación. Sabemos muchas de las cosas que vos misma mencionaste. Creemos que nada es terminal y nada es tan complejo para que no pueda ser resuelto, aunque consideramos que hay que trabajar mucho sobre el tema. Tenemos urgencia, las estamos resolviendo. Pero una organización se sostiene sobre la base de proyectos. Si vos tenes millones de dólares en tesorería, pero no hay un proyecto de nada sirve. La gente va a estar al día, los impuestos van a estar pagos, pero la razón de existir de una organización no tiene sentido. En el caso nuestro creemos que el bienestar económico de la OSA va a venir de la mano del desarrollo de proyectos que tengan que ver con la educación sionista. Creemos que hay un doble trabajo, por eso vamos a trabajar en equipos que tienen que ver con la solución de algunos temas económicos, prioritariamente, y más que nada con el personal, antes que cualquier otro segmento. Esto va a ir acompañado de un amplio desarrollo de lo que son programas. Ahora va a viajar una delegación de la OSA a Israel para el Vaad Hapoel (Comité de Acción Sionista) y a la Junta de Gobernadores, que es a principios de noviembre, donde vamos con nuestras carpetas de proyectos.
– Danny Lew en una entrevista que le hice al finalizar su gestión me aseguró que uno de los inconvenientes que no pudo solucionar en su etapa como presidente es la generación de recursos económicos propios (empresas y privados) que aporten para la causa de la OSA más allá de la partida presupuestaria que reciben de la Organización Sionista Mundial, ¿ustedes están previendo esto?
– El fundraising es una ciencia ya. No es más algo vocacional que lo hace una persona que va pide plata a algún lado y con eso lo arregla. El fundraising es una ciencia hay gente que se especializa en eso, y nosotros vamos a trabajar seriamente en ese aspecto. Yo creo que desde la imagen renovada que la OSA va poder aportar a la sociedad judía va a poder generar confianza, y en algún lugar quienes van a desarrollar el fundraising de la OSA van a poder encontrar un poco de sustento y solidez en la búsqueda de los recursos económicos. Aún dentro de la partida presupuestaria que corresponde a la organización sionista hay algo que pertenece al recurso económico habitual y otro tanto que se puede generar en Israel y en otras organizaciones en ese país que sea aplicado de forma directa y específica a programas educativos. Yo no sé si hay muchas empresas que puedan aportar dinero a la causa sionista por que no sé si les interesa, pero sí hay muchas personas interesadas en hacer aportes a la causa sionista. Pero vuelvo a insistir, nadie aporta a una caja negra donde no se sabe si la plata va para pagar sueldos, cargas sociales o impuestos. La gente aporta y genera a sí misma recursos siempre que sean puestos al servicio de…en este caso el servicio de la OSA es auspiciar y reproducir programas de educación sionista, y llevar la causa de Israel a la educación en general; transmitir los valores del Estado Hebreo.
– Hablaste de proyectos y de educación sionista, ¿se van a centrar en la educación?
– A decir verdad no creemos que sea la OSA la tiene que generar y producir todos los proyectos educativos del sionismo tanto en la enseñanza formal como en la no formal (Tnuot, Congreso Juvenil Sionista, Noa y CUMA), sino todo lo que se puede con las sociodeportivas con FACCMA, con el Foro de Presidentes de Escuelas de la Red Escolar Judía y con los centros comunitarios en educación no formal. Lo que creemos, básicamente, es que tenemos que trabajar en red. A veces hay superposición de proyectos, entonces la OSA va a trabajar en una especie de centralizador de esos proyectos trabajando en red y asociando a las comunidades y organizaciones que ya tienen. A partir de ahí hay que optimizar la mano de obra (gente que trabaja en esos proyectos) y los recursos económicos que se utilizan para eso. Tenemos buenas expectativas por que hay muchos programas dando vueltas que merecen ser tenidos en cuenta y discutidos dentro de la sociedad judía.
– Hablaste que van a viajar a Israel, ¿qué reuniones van a mantener?
– Yo voy por dos cuestiones. Una como miembro observador del movimiento conservador masortí, y por el otro lado voy como presidente de la OSA. Lo que vamos a mantener son reuniones y entrevistas con autoridades de la Organización Sionista Mundial y con las diferentes personas que analizan los programas y proyectos educativos. Por el otro lado trabajar con el movimiento. Van a ser cuatro o cinco días intensos de una agenda que estamos armando seriamente para aprovechar el tiempo, y no para ir a presentarnos por que no necesitamos ir a presentarnos y después hablar, ya estamos trabajando desde ahora. Estamos comenzando charlas con Itamar (Steinberg) representante de América Latina de la OSM, y nuestra idea es ir con proyectos concretos.
