Tras la fuerte polémica por una supuesta publicación realizada por el Defensor del Pueblo de Cerrillos, Carlos Paz, contra la comunidad judía en la red social Facebook en agosto pasado; el Concejo Deliberante, según adelantó Diario El Tribuno, resolvió hoy destituir de su cargo al funcionario.
La publicación generó revuelo no solo en el ámbito municipal, sino que desde Provincia instaron a tomar todas las acciones necesarias; mientras que la filial Salta de la DAIA expresó en un comunicado su «repudio y condena a las expresiones xenófobas e intolerantes expresadas por el Señor Carlos Paz».
Por su parte, la Asociación de Defensores del Pueblo de la República Argentina también difundió un comunicado para manifestar ‘su más profundo rechazo a las declaraciones del Defensor del Pueblo de la Municipalidad de San José de Cerrillos, Carlos Paz».
Según señaló la Comisión de Disciplina juicio político y responsabilidad patrimonial no se presentaron las suficientes pruebas que puedan desacreditar las dudas sobre los cuestionamientos interpuestos por las distintas partes por los dichos expresados en la red social.
Ante el hecho, se produjo la destitución por las causales de «inhabilidad moral sobreviniente para el desempeño del cargo» y por la «pérdida de confianza como consecuencia de los hechos públicos, términos y dichos discriminatorios que se le atribuyen en contra de la comunidad judía y conducta desarrollada por el mismo durante el proceso».
A parte de la destitución, el tribunal impuso una sanción complementaria de «inhabilitación especial y permanente por el mismo período que le fuera depositada la confianza de su mandato o sea tres años a partir de la notificación de la presente, para el cargo de Defensor de Pueblo» de Cerrillos.
