David Galante: «Demoré 50 años en contar la tragedia»

27 de enero. Día Internacional para la Recordación de las Víctimas del Holocausto – David Galante, sobreviviente del campo de concentración de Auschwitz, dialogó en exclusiva con Vis a Vis y comentó lo difícil que fue transmitirle al mundo lo sucedido, y además como vive su vida actual.

Galante con una voz tranquila y precisa relata lo que fue su historia de horror a cuatro días del Día Internacional de Conmemoración Anual en Memoria de las Víctimas de la Shoá: «Yo demoré 50 años en contar la tragedia. No pude contar porque la gente no quería escuchar,  cuando les queríamos contar lo que paso nos tomaban como locos. Esto nos desalentó para poder seguir, entonces me dedique a formar familia a rehacer mi vida. Después de la aparición de las películas como la Lista de Schlinder, empezamos a hablar con algunos sobrevivientes en escuelas, Iglesias, etc». Además agregó: «Hace como 20 años que uno transmite, entonces ya uno está un poco curtido. Con el tiempo, transformé la tragedia en algo positivo».

Cuando se lo consultó sobre el legado que intenta dejar en la sociedad Argentina y mundial afirmó: «La misión nuestra es transmitir a la sociedad y cuanto más gente conoce el asunto más positivo es y menos posibilidades que se vuelvan a repetir. Vamos a colegios secundarios, universidades y en todas las provincias del país. Hacemos un trabajo educativo porque hay muchas personas que no saben que el Holocausto existió”

También destacó que las personas que niegan el Holocausto saben que sucedió, pero lo hacen por intereses políticos. Por último expresó: «Tenemos que luchar contra estas matanzas para que nunca más se vuelvan a repetir, y no hay que olvidar a los mártires del Holocausto, porque si nos olvidamos de ellos los estaríamos matando nuevamente”.
