En la mañana de este martes 22 de julio, los soldados de la brigada de paracaidistas se enfrentaron a un escuadrón terrorista; 10 de ellos fueron abatidos por la FAI. Otros huyeron de la escena en una ambulancia. Las Fuerzas de Defensa Israelíes no la alcanzaron debido a la posibilidad de presencia de civiles dentro en ella.
Cabe destacar que el hospital de campaña construído por las FDI, en cooperación con la Media Luna Roja, ya está funcionando como puede verse en imágenes. Su objetivo es tratar civiles gazatíes afectados por el conflicto.
