Recuperar la esperanza. Por Pepe Eliaschev


Ha sido dicho en incontables oportunidades de modo que ni siquiera pretendo ser, en este caso, original: todos sabemos que los números redondos tienen una potencia significativa muy peculiar. 20 no es diferente a 19, ni tampoco será diferente a 21. Pero el viernes se recordaron las dos décadas completas que han transcurrido en la República Argentina desde que nuestra patria fue sacudida por el peor atentado terrorista de su historia, el atentado del 18 de julio de 1994 que se cobró la vida de 85 personas.

En el acto anual que se hizo frente a la sede de la AMIA y de la DAIA, en la calle Pasteur, hablaron el vicepresidente de la DAIA, Ralph Thomas Sahieg, nuestro compañero y colega Alfredo Leuco, con una poderosa y elocuente pieza discursiva y analítica, y finalmente, en nombre del agrupamiento Familiares y Amigos de las Víctimas, al doctor Luis Czyzewski, cuya hija Paola, de apenas 20 años, fue una de las personas, que a muy temprana edad, fueron asesinados por aquel atentado criminal.

En este caso, y he aquí la característica particular de este comentario editorial, Czyzewski, a quien hace varios meses no veía (no somos amigos personales, pero nos respetamos y apreciamos mutuamente, nos hemos dado abrazos muy frecuentemente en el Teatro Colón y en otros lugares cívicos), me sorprendió, justo cuando salía de mi casa esta mañana para un protocolo médico, al verlo por televisión aludiendo a mí. No pude menos que conmoverme muy profundamente. Como creo que es público y notorio, yo fui el periodista que denunció el pacto de Irán con el gobierno de Cristina Kirchner.

Quiero que ustedes escuchen en la boca del propio Czyzewski, qué dijo, cuáles fueron sus críticas al Gobierno, al acuerdo con la República Islámica de Irán, su punto de vista respecto de Héctor Timerman, la referencia que hizo a Luis D’Elía, y específicamente, al “rabino” que maneja las emisoras en las que trabajan personas como D’Elía – específicamente la señal de cable CN23; más allá de que no me consta de que este caballero haya terminado realmente sus estudios de rabinato, Las palabras de Czyzewski son particularmente explosivas, más allá de la alusión que él hace a mí.

“Desde hace un año y medio se instaló un nuevo tema que se suma a los muchos hechos que venimos denunciando cada vez que podemos manifestarnos.

“Todos sabemos de que estamos hablando, de la firma por parte de nuestro gobierno con la República Islámica de Irán de lo que pomposamente y con notorio mal gusto se denominó memorándum de entendimiento entre los dos países.


“Desde el mismo momento en que se conoció, muchos familiares dijimos que dicho pacto es pobre, que tiene profundas inconsistencias, groseras omisiones y sobre todo violaciones a la ley argentina.
“Tan pobre es, que hasta está mal traducido del inglés al español. Nunca pudimos entender muchas cosas que pasaron antes y después de conocerse públicamente el memorándum. Sr. ministro Timerman: si el memorándum es tan bueno como usted sostiene, por qué lo negoció en secreto sin dar parte ni pedir opinión a ninguno de los querellantes y a todos los que hubiesen podido aportar su visión sobre esta idea de negociar con los terroristas.
“Tal vez Usted no se percató o no se dio cuenta con quién estaba negociando, ni cuál fue el comportamiento de Irán en los 18 años que transcurrieron hasta la firma de este penoso acuerdo.
“Queremos decir con total claridad que nuestros muertos piden justicia, no acuerdos, y que en nuestro país los fallos del poder judicial se cumplen, no se negocian. Hoy tenemos un hecho nuevo que nos da cierta esperanza de que este grotesco pacto pueda pasar a mejor vida.

“Es el fallo de la Sala I de la Cámara Federal que declaró inconstitucionales tanto el memorándum como la ley que lo aprobó. En la lucha por lograr la inconstitucionalidad corresponde ponderar las conductas de la AMIA y la DAIA que actuaron con firmeza para obtener ese fallo.

“Tanto como muchas veces criticamos ciertos comportamientos de esas entidades, en este momento corresponde valorar su actuación para lograr la declaración de inconstitucionalidad. Sr. Timerman, sería bueno que Ud. leyera los considerandos que preceden a cada uno de los votos de los jueces que decretaron la inconstitucionalidad para que tome conciencia del adefesio que es el memorándum.

“Hoy no podemos dejar de recordar lo que sucedió en este mismo día, en este mismo palco hace tres años. Es el momento de reivindicar a un periodista con mayúscula que tuvo la osadía de publicar las reuniones secretísimas que desarrollaba nuestro Canciller con el gobierno de Ajmadineyad.

“Sr. Eliaschev: usted merece ser reivindicado de las agresiones a las que fue sometido injustamente. Sabemos que usted es inteligente y sabe por qué pasó lo que pasó.


También queremos decir con todas las letras que nosotros, por ser familiares de víctimas del atentado a la AMIA, no podemos transformarnos en jueces ni criticar decisiones privadas de ninguna persona que no se vinculen con el atentado.

“Por eso tenemos que aclarar que no corresponde criticar o aplaudir ninguna inclinación política que tome ninguna persona, aunque sea rabino, religioso o lo que fuere. Porque si de un rabino se trata, nos hubiera gustado oír algo cuando un rabino, desde un plano comercial, le da pantalla al señor Luis D´Elía para que desarrolle y difunda por televisión su pensamiento totalitario, violento y antisemita. Estamos convencidos y queremos transmitirles a todos los que le dan espacio político y mediático al Sr. Luis D´Elía, que el lugar en el que debe estar no es una radio ni un canal de televisión y menos aún un palco político. El único lugar que debería ocupar es el banquillo ante la justicia.”

Estas fueron las palabras del doctor Czyzewski, con quien tuve esta tarde la oportunidad de hablar al aire, en el programa de mi siempre apreciado colega Ari Paluch, quien tuvo la muy buena idea de, antes de Esto que Pasa  

en Radio Mitre, hacernos dialogar al aire, lo cual me dio la oportunidad de enviarle un muy fuerte reconocimiento y mi gratitud eterna.

“Ser independientes -dijo Czyzewski-, no es compatible con ser obedientes. No debemos subordinar nuestras opiniones al interés de otro. No es posible ser hombres libres y soldados de otro. Así que no pierdan el tiempo en domesticarnos”.

¿Lo estarían escuchando, estupefactos, los dirigentes actuales y anteriores de la DAIA y la AMIA que se prestaron – entre otras maldades – a acompañar al Gobierno para agraviarme e intentar descalificarme?

El día ha transcurrido así, con la misma tristeza que los familiares de las víctimas sienten desde hace 20 años. Pero, en términos generales, es un día importante, para la lenta maduración de la conciencia civil de los argentinos: el fiscal José María Campagnoli ha sido repuesto en su cargo, una vergonzosa derrota para un Gobierno que se cree –y se creyó– omnipotente.

Los aniversarios se seguirán conmemorando. Deseemos que la fortaleza democrática de las tan golpeadas instituciones argentinas, nos permita el próximo 18 de julio estar saludando alborozados algún paso hacia adelante que intente y permita recuperar la esperanza. No hay vida sin esperanza. No hay posibilidad de acentuar los valores de la existencia sin la sólida perspectiva y convicción de que el día de mañana puede ser mejor que el de hoy.
