Entre el 27 y 30 de abril, el país europeo reunirá a más de 70 representantes de comunidades sefardíes provenientes de distintas partes del mundo en el marco de la III Cumbre Erensya, convocada por el Centro Sefarad-Israel.
El propósito del encuentro es establecer puentes entre España y las comunidades sefardíes. En esta tercera edición (las anteriores habían sido Bulgaria 2011 y Turquía 2013) se espera la participación de representantes de Argentina, Brasil, Bulgaria, Chile, Egipto, Francia, México, Panamá y Turquía, entre otros países.
Además de Centro Sefarad-Israel, también participan en la organización del congreso la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), los Ayuntamientos de Ávila y Toledo, Casa del Mediterráneo, Red de Juderías, Federación de Comunidades Judías de España y Comunidad Judía de Madrid.
Las primeras dos jornadas del evento se desarrollarán en Ávila, en conmemoración del quinto centenario del nacimiento de Teresa de Ávila, descendiente de conversos. El día 27 se llevará a cabo la inauguración de la Cumbre con la participación del Ministro de Justicia, Rafael Catalá, mientras que el 28 los representantes de las distintas comunidades celebrarán reuniones de trabajo internas y luego asistirán a un seminario acerca de Teresa de Ávila.
El 29, los partipantes serán recibidos por el Rey Felipe VI en el Palacio de la Zarzuela en Madrid. Luego visitarán el Colegio Ibn Gabirol y la sede de la comunidad judía de la capital española, donde compartirán un almuerzo con la alcaldesa de Madrid, Ana Botella, y el embajador de Israel en España, Alon Bar.
La última jornada tendrá lugar en Toledo, donde los asistentes mantendrán un encuentro con el alcalde García-Page y recorrerán las calles y templos de la Judería. Además, participarán en un debate privado acerca de la Ley de nacionalidad española para sefardíes.
La Cumbre Erensya, declarada de interés comunitario por el Gran Rabinato Sefardí de Buenos Aires que preside el Rabino Isaac Sacca, también ofrece actividades artísticas abiertas al público. Las mismas son ‘Kantes sefardíes de Oriente a Occidente’, el 27 de abril en Ávila; ‘Dejando huellas’, el 28 de abril, en la misma ciudad; y ‘Tres Culturas Tres’ el 30 de abril en Madrid.
