Funcionarios del Instituto Nacional contra la Discriminación, la Xenofobia y el Racismo (INADI) participaron este mediodía de un encuentro con los directivos de AMIA, en el que se abordaron temas de interés común.
Se trató de la primera reunión que las autoridades de AMIA mantuvieron con el nuevo interventor del instituto, Javier Alejandro Buján, desde que éste asumió sus funciones en el mes de diciembre pasado.
Buján fue recibido por el presidente de AMIA, Ralph Thomas Saieg y el director ejecutivo, Daniel Pomerantz, quienes manifestaron en el marco de este primer encuentro institucional la voluntad de cooperación y de trabajo en conjunto.
Creado en 1995 y en funciones desde 1997, el INADI es un organismo descentralizado del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional que funciona bajo la órbita del Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos de la Nación. Sus acciones están dirigidas a todas aquellas personas cuyos derechos se ven afectados al ser discriminadas por su origen étnico o su nacionalidad, por sus opiniones políticas o sus creencias religiosas, por su género o identidad sexual, por tener alguna discapacidad o enfermedad, por su edad o por su aspecto físico. Sus funciones se orientan a garantizar para esas personas los mismos derechos y garantías de los que goza el conjunto de la sociedad, es decir, un trato igualitario.
Al término de la reunión, los directivos de AMIA desearon a las nuevas autoridades una gestión exitosa al frente del Instituto, que apunte a promover los valores del diálogo, el respeto y la convivencia pacífica para poder desarticular las prácticas discriminatorias que aún persisten en nuestra sociedad.
