Con el comienzo del invierno, las tejedoras solidarias de AMIA realizaron la primera entrega de abrigos del año a niños y adolescentes en situación de vulnerabilidad social del hogar “Buenos Aires”, en el barrio porteño de Boedo.
La donación incluyó 50 prendas tejidas a mano que ayudarán a chicos de entre 2 y 16 años de edad a protegerse del frío, y entre las cuales hay ponchos, pulóveres, saquitos y bufandas. La iniciativa es impulsada por el Centro Integral de Adultos Mayores de AMIA, que además aportó libros de cuentos infantiles escritos por quienes participan de su taller de narrativa.
Desde el año 2014 las tejedoras solidarias ofrecen un promedio de 500 prendas por año destinadas a jóvenes en situación de vulnerabilidad social y económica. La actividad, además de comprometerlas socialmente, representa para las adultas mayores un espacio de esparcimiento y trabajo manual. Lo mismo sucede con quienes las ayudan desde 2016 desde la Red Nacional de Centros de Adultos Mayores de la comunidad judía.
Los interesados en colaborar pueden acercarse a tejer con ellas o llevarles prendas ya tejidas, agujas u ovillos de lana a Uriburu 650, 1º piso, de lunes a viernes, de 10 a 17 horas. Para consultas, comunicarse al 4959-8815/17.
