El jefe de Gabinete de Ministros, Marcos Peña, señaló esta noche que la voladura de la AMIA perpetrada en 1994 fue «un acto de odio contra la humanidad» y agregó que sería clave que se deje asentada mañana, cuando se cumplirá el 23 aniversario del ataque, «nuestra búsqueda de paz para combatir al terrorismo«.
Peña, quien habló en un hotel céntrico durante el cierre de la primera jornada de debate de parlamentarios latinoamericanos sobre legislación para prevenir «ataques terroristas», organizada por el Congreso Judío Latinoamericano, consideró que los atentados a la Embajada de Israel primero y a la mutual judía después, «no sólo estuvieron dirigidos contra la comunidad judía, sino contra toda la sociedad argentina«.

Ante un auditorio en el que se encontraban los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, Jorge Faurie; de Ambiente, Sergio Bergman; y de Seguridad, Patricia Bullrich, además de decenas de parlamentarios de Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay y Paraguay, entre otros países, Peña aseveró además que «es importante reforzar la articulación y visión de paz en la región porque rechazamos el terrorismo. Esta región cree en el diálogo, en la diversidad y en los valores democráticos«.
Peña, también, expresó, en alusión a los ataques contra la mutual judía y dos años antes contra la Embajada de Israel en Buenos Aires, que «hoy más que nunca, en víspera de un nuevo y doloroso aniversario, porque todavía estamos reclamando justicia, es muy importante reafirmar este compromiso en la lucha contra el terrorismo y dejar claro nuestro mensaje de que este es un acto de odio contra la humanidad y que en nuestro país atentó dos veces«.
Además, aseguró que «es muy importante que mañana recordemos a las víctimas y a sus familiares con el compromiso de que haya justicia y para defender los valores de la democracia, la ley, la diversidad y la paz».
Sobre la muerte del fiscal que investigaba la voladura de la mutual judía, cuya ex esposa e hijas estuvieron en el cierre de la jornada, Peña dijo que «tampoco debemos olvidarnos de investigar y que haya justicia en el caso del fiscal Alberto Nisman. El presidente (Mauricio) Macri ha sido muy claro desde el primer momento en el acompañamiento a su familia y a la necesidad de que se sepa qué ocurrió y sobre los responsables de esa muerte».
Marcos Peña advirtió que el ataque contra la AMIA fue un acto contra toda la humanidad.
Por último, el jefe de Ministros se recibió al memorando firmado entre Argentina e Irán en el 2013, sobre el que afirmó que «fuimos consecuentes con la promesa de no apelar y poder desandar ese camino que nos lleva a reforzar y mantener el pedido de las alertas rojas en Interpol» que pesan sobre ciudadanos iraníes acusados en Argentina de organizar y ejecutar el atentado de 1994.
«En todo esto nos van a encontrar unidos y trabajando con la máxima transparencia y colaboración para que el Estado desande estos años de impunidad y la justicia pueda completar los procesos de investigación y los juicios en los casos AMIA y Embajada», dijo el funcionario.
Peña concluyó afirmando que «como gobierno estamos trabajando en un claro combate al terrorismo unidos con toda la comunidad internacional«.
