La Iglesia luterana de Alemania anuncio este martes que la esvástica de la polémica campana de la iglesia del poblado de Schweringen fue retirada, luego de una controversia local sobre el símbolo nazi.
El pastor de la iglesia de la municipalidad de Schweringen informó el pasado jueves a los funcionarios que descubrió que el símbolo gravado en la campana había sido borrado. Además, se encontró un mensaje impreso colocado en la entrada de la iglesia, en el que los emisores “decentes, intelectuales y cosmopolitas” explicaron sus intenciones.
“Hicimos una limpieza de primavera. No sólo del pueblo, también de la campana. De heces de paloma y de la basura de los nazis, que después de 80 años amenazaron con dividir a la población”, dijeron en el comunicado.
La iglesia suspendió el uso de la campana el año pasado, pero los funcionarios de la iglesia local decidieron a mediados de marzo volver a usarla. Ese movimiento, y la decisión de no reemplazar la campana, fue impugnado por el pastor y sus objeciones aún estaban bajo consideración. La iglesia dijo que ahora considerará cómo proceder y si tomar cualquier acción legal sobre esta acción.
Otra de las “campanas de Hitler” que han causado revuelo recientemente es la del pueblo de Herxheim, que tras un reportaje que la puso en el centro del ojo mediático a mediado del año pasado, incluso le costó el puesto al alcalde local después de que este la defendiera como patrimonio local de la comunidad. En febrero pasado, el pueblo voto por conservar la campana.
