El ex embajador argentino en Siria, Roberto Ahuad, expresó en diálogo con Radio 10 su repudio al partido que disputarán el próximo 9 de junio en Jerusalén Argentina e Israel, y aseguró que jugar este encuentro «es negativo e indica que no tenemos nada que hacer allí».
Ahuad, quien ocupó ese cargo durante el mandato de Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, aseveró: «No tengo ninguna duda de que esto es producto del lineamiento de este Gobierno con Estados Unidos e Israel. Cuando EE.UU. propuso reconocer a Jerusalén como capital de Israel, hubo una minoría en contra, y entre esa minoría estaba Argentina, lo que marca esta nueva conducta».
A su vez, el ex embajador reconoció que «esto nos enfrenta a muchos países del Golfo que son posibles consumidores plenos de productos argentinos».
Por último, afirmó: «Si se juega el 9, hasta el 8 tenemos que seguir insistiendo en que Argentina no juegue contra Israel».
