El basquetbolista LeBron James pide disculpas por sus expresiones antisemitas

El alero estrella de Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, pidió disculpas públicamente sobre la referencia que hizo acerca del “dinero judío” y la NBA la aceptó sin que recibiese ningún tipo de sanción.

Después de hablar con James, la NBA confirmó que no tomará ninguna acción sobre la publicación que hizo en las redes sociales de una letra de la canción que hace referencia al “dinero judío”, que todo lo abarca.

La nueva polémica en la que se ve involucrado James se dio apenas tres días después de que apareciese otro comentario suyo en el último episodio de la serie “The Shop”, en el que criticó a los dueños de la Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano (NFL).

James dijo que los dueños de la NFL tienen “mentalidad de esclavo”, que tratan de imponer sus políticas y gestión por encima de todo, algo que no ha gustado dentro del deporte rey y mucho menos que la NBA no haya tomado ningún tipo de acción en contra de la estrella de los Lakers.

Sobre todo porque consideran que está protegiendo a su jugador imagen y promocionando su deporte junto a la figura del comisionado de la NBA, Adam Silver, a quien James elogia, en el mismo episodio, al decir que permite que los jugadores puedan expresar sus opiniones aunque no las comparta.

La oficina de la liga también ha aceptado ahora la explicación de James tras admitir que cometió un “error”, de acuerdo a lo manifestado por varias fuentes periodísticas.

El pasado sábado, James había citado la canción “ASMR” por el intérprete 21 Savage, mientras escribía la letra “Hemos estado recibiendo el dinero judío. Todo es kosher”, en una cuenta pública de Instagram con 45,9 millones de seguidores que tiene la estrella de los Lakers.

Después de la derrota de los Lakers de local por 99-107 ante los Grizzlies de Memphis, en el partido que disputaron la pasada noche, James, en declaraciones a Dave McMenamin de ESPN pidió disculpas por la manera como utilizó el contenido de la canción.

“Disculpas, por supuesto, si ofendí a alguien, dado que no era esa mi intención cuando elegí compartir esa letra”, valoró James. Siempre publico la letra. Eso es lo que hago”.

James explicó que siempre que viaja en su automóvil escucha buena música y de ahí que luego quiera compartir determinadas letras con sus seguidores.

“Viajo en mi auto, escucho buena música y eso fue el resultado de lo sucedido. Entonces, realmente pensé que era un cumplido, y obviamente no fue a través de la lente de mucha gente que lo percibió. Mis disculpas. Definitivamente no fue la intención, obviamente, ofender a nadie”, argumentó James.

Mientras la estrella de los Lakers junto con el resto de los jugadores del equipo se prepara de cara al tradicional duelo del Día de Navidad, que hoy, martes, van a protagonizar contra los Warriors de Golden State, los actuales campeones de liga.

El partido se jugará en el Oracle Arena de Oakland, el campo de los Warriors (23-11), que llegan como líderes destacados de la División Pacífico, donde los Lakers (19-14) ocupan el segundo puesto, empatados con Los Angeles Clippers.EFE
