Davidovich fue golpeado y atacado salvajemente en su casa en el barrio de Once por un grupo de desconocidos. Según un comunicado publicado por AMIA, los delincuentes ingresaron a las 2 de la mañana a casa del rabino y antes de golpearlo le gritaron: «Sabemos que sos el rabino de AMIA». Fue golpeado brutalmente hasta quedar inconsciente.
