El líder centrista Benny Gantz acusó al primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu de querer forzar unas terceras elecciones después de que los equipos negociadores de sus respectivas fuerzas políticas, – Azul y Blanco (Kajol Laván) y el Likud- volvieran a fracasar para avanzar en la formación de un gobierno de unidad tras los comicios del 17 de septiembre.

«El Likud insiste en el bloque de 55 miembros y en lanzar eslóganes con el único objetivo de generar apoyo para arrastrar a Israel a otra ronda de elecciones a instancias de Netanyahu», criticó la formación de Gantz sobre las precondiciones de negociación.
Precisamente Gantz recibió una llamada telefónica de Bibi, a quien le volvió a exigir que las negociaciones fueran directas entre las dos listas más votadas en los comicios, sin socios adicionales. «Tenemos que alcanzar un acuerdo que resulte en el establecimiento de un Gobierno de unidad y evitar unas innecesarias terceras elecciones», insistió el líder centrista.
Los resultados electorales del 17 de septiembre no han dado mayoría parlamentaria a ninguno de los dos bloques (derecha y ultraortodoxos por un lado y centro e izquierda por otro) por lo que el Likud y Azul y Blanco están forzados a intentar establecer un gobierno de unidad. Finalmente, los partidos acordaron reunirse de nuevo el miércoles, después de los dos días festivos con motivo del Año Nuevo judío (Rosh Hashaná). Esta tercera ronda de negociaciones será previa a la visita que tendrá Netanyahu con el fiscal general del Estado para formalizar o no su acusación en tres casos de corrupción.
