Multitud de Cristianos Evangélicos marcharon con fervor por las calles de Jerusalén mostrando su apoyo a Israel

«Queremos a Israel», clamó hoy una multitud de cristianos evangélicos llegados de los cinco continentes que esta tarde inundó las principales calles de Jerusalén en una marcha en la que mostraron su devoción por el Estado judío y que se celebra cada año durante la festividad de Sucot.

Unas 10.000 personas participaron en un colorido desfile marcado por el ambiente festivo, donde destacaron los colores azul y blanco y la Estrella de David de la bandera israelí, muy presente entre los congregados, que también enarbolaron las enseñas nacionales de sus respectivos países de origen.

«Esto es para que Israel vea que no está solo. El mundo le ama y aquí hay gente de los países más poderosos», comentó el colombiano Andrés Castro, residente en París, que ondeaba una bandera francesa y que destacó la presencia de personas procedentes de potencias mundiales como Estados Unidos, Rusia o China.

Los congregados comenzaron su ruta en el parque Saker, el más grande de la Ciudad Santa. Ante un fuerte dispositivo policial y múltiples cortes de calles, recorrieron algunas de las vías más importantes de la parte occidental de la urbe mientras cantaban y bailaban animados por el ritmo de la música.

La emoción por desfilar entre las calles de Jerusalén se percibía en muchos de ellos, que mostraron un vínculo especial con Tierra Santa por las connotaciones religiosas del lugar.

«Israel significa una gran bendición, es la palabra de Dios», declaró la pastora Jeni Moreno, de la congregación evangélica Paz de Dios de Panamá, que caminó todo el desfile con una suntuosa pollera, uno de los vestidos femeninos tradicionales del país latinoamericano.

Como muchos otros, no es la primera vez que Moreno estuvo en la marcha, en la que ha participado en diez ocasiones anteriores.

Su experiencia es similar a la de Andrés Castro, que también participó en desfiles previos. «Para mi esta es la tierra prometida, aquí comenzó todo y terminará todo», explicó el colombiano, quien aseguró que será en Israel donde «vendrá el Mesías por segunda vez para reinar el mundo».

Según los cristianos evangélicos, el retorno de los judíos a la Tierra Prometida es una de las condiciones para que Jesús vuelva a la Tierra por segunda vez, y entonces será reconocido como Mesías por el pueblo judío.

Para el pastor Moisés Ávila, acompañado de más de cuarenta feligreses españoles que lucían su enseña nacional, el acto de hoy supone «cumplir con una profecía bíblica» y dar «un apoyo histórico al pueblo judío» y a Israel.

Como cada año, muchos israelíes, gran parte de ellos religiosos, se acercaron a la marcha para agradecer la presencia de los evangélicos.

La israelí Yivat Noyman vino expresamente desde la región septentrional de Galilea para presenciar la marcha con cuatro de sus hijas. «Quiero que sientan el amor que transmite esta gente», explicó, y agregó que está «emocionada por ver a tantas personas que adoran a Israel».

«Nos quieren de verdad. Incluso nos quieren tocar y tomarse fotos con nosotros», destacó.

Más allá de marchas simbólicas como la de hoy, líderes cristianos evangélicos han destacado por su apoyo incondicional a Israel y se han mostrado partidarios del reconocimiento de Jerusalén como su capital, cuya parte oriental fue liberada de la ocupación jordana durante la Guerra de los Seis Días de 1967.
