En Bolonia, un hombre, descendiente de una familia judía exterminada en el Holocausto, presentó una queja ante la policía después de encontrar una estrella de David dibujada en la puerta de su casa, con una flecha que indica su apellido en el timbre. Su testimonio fue recogido por el Tg Rai de Emilia-Romaña.
Italia ha visto multiplicarse en los últimos días los episodios de antisemitismo y racismo, coincidiendo con el Día de la Memoria del Holocausto, lo que ha provocado una amplia reacción social, con manifestaciones de protesta convocadas en varios puntos del país.
El epicentro de esta respuesta fue Mondovì, una pequeña ciudad del Piemonte (norte), símbolo de la resistencia partisana en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y donde apareció una pintada señalando la casa en la que vivía la superviviente del Holocausto Lidia Rolfi.
La reacción a la pintada en alemán «Juden hier» («Aquí viven judíos»), fue una silenciosa manifestación de unas 3000 personas, congregadas bajo carteles de «Siempre partisanos» y «Conservar la memoria», algo que el hijo de la víctima agradeció, asegurando que su madre «estaría orgullosa de esta participación».
El ataque se daba justo un día después de que Aldo Rolfi publicara un artículo recordando a su madre, una de las primeras escritoras que denunciaron el horror nazi en Italia, y advirtiendo que «el crecimiento del odio es colosal, palpable en todos los campos».
El alcalde de Milán, Beppe Sala, se solidarizó con un cartel con el lema «Antifa hier» («Aquí vive un antifascista») en la puerta de su casa, y políticos de distinto signo criticaron también la pintada contra los judíos, como el presidente de la República, Sergio Mattarella, quien alertó que «el antisemitismo no ha desaparecido».
Pero este no ha sido el único caso, ya que en Turín apareció también una pintada ofensiva en la casa de una mujer de origen judío, hija de una partisana, lo que motivó otra concentración de solidaridad.
Organizado por la Asociación Nacional de Partisanos de Italia (ANPI), cientos de personas reivindicaron que «Turín es antifascista» y arroparon a la víctima del ataque, una mujer de 65 años
Desde ANPI advierten de la gravedad de la situación, ya que «se están dando fenómenos desconocidos en décadas de historia democrática, que recuerdan a las leyes raciales de 1938», dijo la responsable de la organización en Turín, Mariagrazia Sestero.
La conmemoración este 27 de enero de la liberación por las tropas soviéticas del campo de exterminio nazi de Auschwitz hace 75 años ha provocado un aumento de los actos antisemitas, como los dibujos de esvásticas y lemas a favor de la Shoah (holocausto) que aparecieron en una escuela de Roma.
Se han recrudecido además las amenazas de muerte hacia supervivientes del Holocausto, como la senadora vitalicia Liliana Segre, que a sus 89 años tuvo que recibir una escolta en noviembre por amenazas de este tipo.
Los episodios vandálicos se repiten a lo largo del país, desde Guastalla (norte), donde destrozaron una placa en recuerdo a un militar deportado a Alemania, a Torrebelvicino (noreste), donde en la sede del Partido Democráta un cartel pedía «reabrir los hornos» de los campos de exterminio.
En Calolziocorte, cerca de Bérgamo (norte), un ejemplar de la «Epístola a los hebreos», apareció destrozado en una caseta de intercambio de libros.
Aunque judíos y descendientes de partisanos han sido la diana principal de estos mensajes de odio, no se libran tampoco personas migrantes, como la italiana de origen marroquí Madiha Khtibari, cuyo bar fue atacado tras varias amenazas.
Khtibari denunció que habían destrozado el escaparate de su bar en Rezzato (norte) y dejado mensajes racistas y nazis en su interior, por lo que se sentía «asustada y turbada».
«Me ha dolido que nadie en las casas cercanas haya escuchado y lo hubiera denunciado. No sé si volveré a abrir», explicó a los medios italianos.
Prácticamente todos estos ataques ya están siendo investigados por la justicia, que valora que las amenazas y agresiones están agravadas por discriminación étnica, racial o religiosa.
