Cuando finaliza su horario de servicio el sargento de 22 años y encargado de custodiar la frontera del Líbano con un dron, toma su violín y emite melodías. Se escuchan de uno y otro lado del límite internacional.
Así lo documentaron diversos medios internacionales que visitaron el cruce de Rosh Hanikrá, sobre la costa mediterránea. Fue en ocasión de la histórica mesa de diálogo que se conformó esta semana entre libaneses e israelíes. Es ahí donde comenzaron a discutir los límites de la frontera marítima entre los países.
Como tantas veces, pero esta vez con más espectadores ocasionales, Yitzhak se trepó a un muro lateral del cruce fronterizo y tocó su instrumento durante varios minutos. “Lo hago porque me gusta relajarme, cuando termino mi servicio este es mi rincón para tocar”, le contó el soldado a Ynet.
Hace tres meses sirve en esta base, desde que Hezbollah intensificó sus amenazas de atacar a objetivos militares en el norte israelí. Su repertorio musical incluye muchas canciones judías y su favorita, especialmente en los días en que le toca custodiar el puesto de Rosh Hanikra, es “Shalom Aleichem” (La paz sea con vosotros).

“Aprendí a tocar solo, con videos online, empecé a tocar la guitarra a los 15 años y hace dos años y medio empecé con el violín”. Así lo contó el sargento sobre una actividad que comparte con sus compañeros de unidad que a menudo lo acompañan con cantos.
Por su cercanía, las melodías de Yitzhak, el soldado violinista israelí, no se escuchan solamente en la base militar. El sonido rompe fronteras y cruza hasta el sur libanés. “Prefiero que del otro lado escuchen mi violín, y no otros sonidos”, reflexiona al respecto.
