El tradicional encendido del candelabro de la quinta noche de Janucá se realizó en la Plaza República Oriental de Uruguay, con la presencia del Jefe de Gobierno Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, el Secretario de Culto de la Nación Guillermo Oliveri, la embajadora de Israel Galit Ronen, el Diputado Nacional Waldo Wolff, el presidente de AMIA Ariel Eichbaum, el presidente de la DAIA Jorge Knoblovits, el director de Jabad Lubavich Argentina Rabino Tzvi Grunblatt, y el director del Complejo Teatral Buenos Aires Jorge Telerman, entre muchas otras personalidades destacadas de la cultura y la política. El acto se trasmitió por streaming y fue seguido en vivo por más de 13 mil personas el lunes por la noche.

En su 36° edición en nuestro país, el acto de Jánuca organizado por Jabad Argentina se desarrolló por primera vez de manera virtual. El público pudo seguir el encendido de velas en Palermo desde su hogar.

A la plaza para la quinta noche de Janucá acudieron 400 asistentes y un destacado grupo de personalidades. Todos respetando las medidas de prevención sanitaria. Larreta fue uno de los encargados de prender la vela guía, shamash. Expresó su deseo de “que iluminemos la ciudad”.

“Con todo el protocolo aún podemos festejar que ganó la luz y no la oscuridad”, destacó la embajadora Galit Ronen.

Por su parte, el Rabino Grunblatt señaló que “Jánuca nos enseña a no achicarnos en ninguna situación”. Además puntualizó: “Jánuca trasforma la oscuridad en luz. Este es el mensaje para este año, el año de la pandemia puede encontrar la luz”.

En la celebración de la luz y los milagros, Grunblatt destacó además el festejo de Jánuca en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos: “El que quiere la paz hace la paz. Vemos el milagro en Dubai”.

Además del encendido de velas hubo música en vivo con Moshé Salama y Matías Linetzky y La trasmisión digital sumó juegos, recetas de cocina de la mano de Patricia Alfie, y la música de La Kosher Nostra y Tiembla el Mohel.
