Y la respuesta hoy es que Redefine Meat está a punto de ser la primera productora de la primera “carne alternativa” de su tipo en el mercado luego de haber superado con éxito lo que se conoce como degustación ciega pública a mayor escala de carne de origen vegetal.
La compañía y el distribuidor de carne israelí Best Meister estacionaron un camión de comida durante dos días en Kidron, un pequeño suburbio de Tel Aviv. El menú incluía platos básicos de carne mediterránea, como kebab, “cigarros” y kubbeh cocinados en el momento.

Impulsados únicamente por el boca a boca, más de 600 personas coparon el camión con cerca de 1.000 pedidos sólo en el primer día.
Los suministros se agotaron en menos de cinco horas. Y todos los ingresos se donaron a restaurantes locales afectados por la pandemia de COVID-19.
Cuando se les dijo a los clientes que la carne que estaban comiendo era de origen vegetal, más del 90 dijeron que Redefine Meat era comparable a la carne animal en términos de sabor, textura y sensación en la boca.
Como resultado, Best Meister hizo una asociación estratégica con Redefine Meat para distribuir los productos en restaurantes israelíes y carnicerías de alta gama en los próximos meses.
Esta será la primera “carne” vegana impresa en 3D en el mercado y la compañía tiene la intención de globalizarla. “Creemos que la carne alternativa debe tener un sabor tan bueno como la carne animal. Pero a través del boca a boca, terminaron teniendo 600 clientes en una jornada con colas de hasta 50 minutos».
“Esto demuestra que los amantes de la carne pueden disfrutar de nuestra alternativa porque sabe y se siente como carne. No solo porque es mejor para el medio ambiente o los animales”, destacó Ben-Shitrit.
Ori Zaguri, director ejecutivo de Best Meister, habló tras el evento. “Hace un tiempo que nos entusiasma la oferta de carne alternativa única de Redefine Meat. El evento del camión de comida nos encantó», dijo. «Los comentarios de los clientes fueron abrumadoramente positivos. La carne de Redefine Meat está hecha de proteínas, grasas y colores y sabores naturales sustentables a base de plantas.
El producto, sin colesterol, tiene menos grasas saturadas y mucha más fibra que la carne de res.
