El papa Francisco envió un mensaje al presidente Reuven Rivlin mientras cruzaba Israel en ruta a Bagdad (IRak) desde Roma en su histórica visita de cuatro días al país. La primera de un pontífice a Irak .

Al vuelo del Papa se le permitió atravesar el espacio aéreo israelí para llegar a su destino en Irak.

Las estaciones de control de tráfico aéreo en el norte de Israel transmitieron el mensaje grabado por Francis destinado a Rivlin.

“A Su Excelencia Reuven Rivlin, Presidente del Estado de Israel. Al ingresar al espacio aéreo israelí en mi viaje apostólico a Irak, les envío un cordial saludo a ustedes y al pueblo de la nación «. Así lo saludó el Papa.» Orando para que Dios todopoderoso los bendiga a todos con su don de armonía y paz. Franciscus Papa «.
