Javo Rocha (Javier Mondschein) es actor, profesor y director de teatro. Santiagueño, hijo de Víctor Mondschein y Rosa Dargoltz, está a pocos días de hacer su Aliá.
Terminó sus estudios universitarios de teatro en Tucumán. Coordinó entre los años 1994/95 el Taller de Teatro de la Kehilá de Tucumán, donde dirigió ocho obras sobre festividades judías y hasta “El Diario de Ana Frank” montado en el Teatro Alberdi de Tucumán, y por la que recibió el Premio Iris Marga como el director teatral más joven del país cuando tenía tan solo 19 años, en el año ’94.
Hoy Javo tiene 45. Desde el ’96 vive en Buenos Aires desarrollando su carrera.
Durante 25 años enseñó actuación en su propia escuela, que funcionaba en distintos teatros céntricos de Buenos Aires, además de ser profesor en el Centro Cultural General San Martin y en el Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas (dos de los más importantes de Buenos Aires).
Carta de recomendación de Luis Ventura a Javo Rocha
En el año 2018, el presidente de APTRA (Asociación de Periodistas de la Televisión y Radiofonía Argentina, institución que entrega los Premios Martin Fierro), Luis Ventura, lo invitó a que su escuela de teatro se convierta en la Escuela de Teatro oficial de APTRA, mudando su escuela a la sede ubicada en el Barrio de Once.
En los próximos días Rocha viajará a Israel y recibió múltiples mensajes despidiéndolo.
Uno de ellos fue el saludo de la ex diputada Lilita Carrió, con un audio muy afectivo: «No sabés lo bien que la vas a pasar en la noche de Tel Aviv, donde son todos jóvenes y divinos. Te va a ir muy bien porque los israelíes aman el teatro. Hay tres lugares que yo amo: la ciudad de Yafo, Jerusalén y el Muro de los Lamentos. Dejale un beso mío, que yo amo al Muro más que a la vida».
También Ventura le envió una carta de recomendación para que Javo pueda trabajar en Israel.
Vis á Vis dialogó con otro talento argentino judío que emigra a Israel, «su tierra prometida», a reencontrarse con su familia y poder cumplir sus sueños.

¿Cómo fue que tomaste la decisión de hacer Aliá?
En marzo del 2020, cuando empezó la cuarentena, tuve que cerrar mi Escuela de Teatro presencial en APTRA y me quedé en mi casa esperando a que pasaran los 15 días de aislamiento, creyendo que eran sólo 15, pero siguió postergándose.
En junio nos reinventamos de manera online dando clases por Zoom. Yo de actuación y Luis Ventura de periodismo. Las clases las dábamos desde la sede de APTRA. Acostumbrado a estar rodeado siempre de gente me di cuenta en el aislamiento en mi casa de que estaba solo. Soy soltero.
Mi padre falleció hace cuatro años y mi madre hace dos. Tengo un hermano casado (Matías) con tres hijos que vive en Ra’anana y otro (Esteban) que vive en Guivatayim. Mi otro hermano (Juan) vive en Paraguay.
Fue a principios de agosto que una noche no pude dormir. Subí a la terraza de mi edificio y hablé con mi mamá mirando al cielo y le dije «mamá me voy con mis hermanos, sé que eso te va a hacer inmensamente feliz, hago Aliá». Al día siguiente se lo comuniqué a mis hermanos. Me di cuenta que el sostén emocional es la familia, y hoy mi familia está en Israel.
Y así abrí carpeta en la Agencia Judía haciendo todos los trámites correspondientes.
En octubre arranqué dos Ulpanim por Zoom que organiza la Organización Sionista Mundial, uno con la morá Silvi Minuchin y otro con la morá Mónica Jarovsky.
Al principio eran todos palitos y puntitos. Me aprendí una canción con el Aleph Beth y la cantaba en todo momento. Ahora siento que puedo leer, aunque me cuesta hablar más. Al mes de aprender las letras de molde empecé a entender las cursivas. Todavía soy muy inicial. Y hace un mes y medio atrás empecé a tomar clases de Kabalah con el more Jaim Baruj para poder trabajar mi ego.

¿Qué significó para vos trabajar en APTRA?
Estar en APTRA fue la causalidad de muchísimos años de trabajo. Hay más de 100 famosos en Argentina que fueron mis alumnos. Pero ya hace más de una década que siento que cada año empiezo de nuevo. Aumentando las cuotas de mi escuela y las entradas de las muestras cuando mis alumnos actuaban, y cada año me pedían más becas ya que la inflación hacia que estudiar teatro sea cada vez más elitista.
Muchísimos años lograba llenar teatros con mis funciones, hacia 40 funciones por año con mis distintos cursos y niveles. Pero cada año había una merma en el público.
El nivel adquisitivo de la clase media cada vez es menor y la pandemia fue una bomba para la economía. Y más para los que nos dedicamos al teatro.
Estoy muy ansioso por empezar esta nueva etapa de mi vida en Israel ascendiendo en búsqueda de mi felicidad. Le agradezco a la Argentina todo lo que me dio pero decidí vivir con mi familia.

¿Cuáles son tus objetivos en Israel?
Pretendo dar clase de actuación en español en Israel en distintas ciudades, aunque quiero vivir en Tel Aviv. Y volver a actuar y dirigir teatro. Hacer en Israel lo que dejé de hacer en Argentina atrapado en mi zona de confort, de mis clases de actuación. Mi ego que no me permitía volver a actuar habiendo creado un mundo egótico donde todo giraba alrededor mío.
Hasta hacía unos eventos gigantes de entregas de los “Premios Javolandia 2007, 2008 y 2009” que están subidas a YouTube hace una década atrás donde directores, productores y famosos venían a darles premios a mis alumnos y la estatuilla era un “Javo con rulos”.
Hoy como parte de ese cambio decidí cortarme el pelo.

¿Qué dejás en Argentina?
Una parte mía había quedado atrapado en el pasado, en esos eventos que yo produje y tuve que dejar de producirlos porque la inflación no me lo permitía.
Todos los años repetía la misma rutina en mi escuela, haciendo las mismas cosas. Necesitaba un cambio. Es como que veía siempre el mismo paisaje a través de una ventana.
Y decidí “cambiar de ventana”. Moverme yo, buscar un nuevo lugar donde ver otro paisaje y sobre todo ser feliz volviendo a donde creo que pertenezco, ya que los años más felices en mi profesión fueron aquellos dos años en mis inicios en la Kehilá de Tucumán, cuando recién empezaba a dar mis primeras clases.

Estoy haciendo Aliá en el Vuelo del martes 16 de marzo, viajo a través de la Fundación Keren Leyedidut y estoy muy contento con la contención y el buen trato tanto de Leo Naidorf como de Martin Albajari. También con todo el personal de Sojnut, en especial con Graciela Goler que sin conocerla personalmente la siento una amiga.
Esta semana Luis Ventura estará firmando una carta con membrete de recomendación, donde le solicita a Israel abrirme las puertas a mi profesión que estaré recibiéndola mientras esté haciendo el aislamiento en el Hotel Dan Panorama de Tel Aviv.
Ojalá rápidamente logre trabajar y desarrollarme en Israel. Mientras estoy listo para arrancar el Ulpan, buscar Shutafim en Tel Aviv y trabajar mediodía en cualquier trabajo hasta que vaya abriéndome camino desde cerom sabiendo que Israel es tierra de milagros y que seguramente voy a poder cumplir mis sueños en la Tierra Prometida y con mis hermanos y sobrinos, con la contención de mi familia israelí. Estoy seguro de que empieza la mejor etapa de mi vida.
