Se formó una nueva coalición de gobierno y está preparada para reemplazar al primer ministro, Benjamin Netanyahu, informó oficialmente el líder de la oposición, Yair Lapid, al presidente Reuven Rivlin y al presidente de la Knesset, Yariv Levin, el miércoles por la noche.

El líder de Yamina, Naftali Bennett, Lapid y el presidente de Ra’am (Lista Árabe Unida), Mansour Abbas, firmaron un acuerdo en una reunión el miércoles por la noche en el hotel Kfar Hamaccabiah de Ramat Gan, en el primer acuerdo de coalición firmado por un partido árabe.

Abbas había agregado demandas de último minuto el miércoles, luego de múltiples conversaciones con el primer ministro Benjamin Netanyahu. Después de que Netanyahu ofreciera cancelar una ley que imponía multas a la construcción árabe ilegal, Abbas exigió lo mismo al gobierno de unidad que se estaba formando.

El Consejo Shura del Movimiento Islámico del Sur decidió en Kfar Kassem el miércoles por la noche empoderar a Abbas para tomar una decisión final. La decisión era sobre si ingresar a la coalición, basándose en su conversación con Bennett y Lapid.

«Fue difícil la decisión y hubo varias disputas, pero era importante llegar a acuerdos». Así le dijo Abbas a los periodistas después de cantar el acuerdo.

Ahora se firmó otro acuerdo de coalición con el Partido Nueva Esperanza. El acuerdo garantiza dividir el papel del fiscal general. Evitar la construcción palestina en el Área C de Cisjordania controlada por Israel y legalizar el uso de cannabis.
