«La Ciudad de la Torá» estará Ubicada en las cercanías de Ixtapan de la Sal, Estado de México. Funcionará de manera similar a urbes de comunidades Haredíes como Lakewood en EE. UU. 

Contará con todo lo necesario para los devotos haredíes que decidan hacerla su nuevo hogar: casas, Yeshivot, Kolelim, escuelas, un supermercado Kosher, parques, áreas de esparcimiento, vastas áreas verdes, un bello entorno natural y seguridad total.

El rabino Yosef Tawil servirá como el Jefe del Consejo de Rabinos de la Ciudad de la Torá, informa Enlace Judío

Además de recibir el respaldo de rabinos de la comunidad judía mexicana, ha recibido el apoyo de los prominentes rabinos Shmuel Kamenetsky, de EE. UU., y Gershon Edelstein, de Israel, quien además será el presidente de la Ciudad de la Torá.

Hasta el momento los desarrolladores han adquirido 2 millones de metros cuadrados y se han recibido los permisos necesarios para la edificación de la Ciudad de la Torá.

“Lo que queremos es incrementar el estudio de la Torá en México, que los estudiosos de la Torá tengan una mejor calidad de vida, que puedan ocuparse de la Torá en paz y aprender mejor con perseverancia y diligencia en paz y tranquilidad, ese es nuestro objetivo”, dijo al sitio israelí Kikar Hashabat uno de los impulsores del proyecto, Moisés Shemaria.

“Queremos establecer algo parecido a Lakewood, en mejores condiciones materiales. Donde los Avrejim que dediquen su vida a la Torá tengan un lugar adecuado y el mejor para ello. Con la mejor posibilidad para la educación de sus hijos, y una vida judía acorde a la Torá”, expresó.

Según Shemaria, se espera que dentro de 3 años se lleve a cabo la inauguración de la construcción de la Ciudad de la Torá con las primeras familias. Se espera que dentro de 10 años la ciudad albergue 1,000 hogares.

Shemaria detalló a Kikar Hashabat que el espacio es apto para hasta 3,000 viviendas y se planean un total de 5 tamaños de casas con un amplio jardín en la primera fase de construcción de la Ciudad de la Torá.

Desde los 140 metros cuadrados hasta los 270 metros cuadrados, estarán entre las opciones a elegir por los residentes.

Las casas pequeñas tendrán un valor de menos de 100 mil dólares, mientras que las casas más grandes rondarán hasta los 220 mil dólares.

Las primeras 55 familias en confirmar un interés de residencia inmediata en la Ciudad de la Torá tendrán opciones de compra convenientes, como pagos de menos de 10 mil dólares a 120 meses sin intereses.
