El Keren Kayemet LeIsrael Argentina invita el 11 de enero a la charla «Shmita, el Shabat de la Tierra» , junto al Rab. David Tabachnik para celebrar Tu Bishvat.  Será el próximo 11/1 a las 17hs ARG.

El nombre Tu Bishvat viene a partir de la fecha del día de fiesta, el décimo quinto día de Shevat (שבט). Shevat es el nombre del mes del calendario hebreo y las letras ט y ו, leído como “Tu” es el número 15 representado con la numeración hebrea. El 15 de Shevat (mes equivalente a enero o febrero), en Israel comienzan a asomarse los primeros brotes de vegetación.

En consecuencia, se salía a plantar árboles. Por eso, ésta es una fiesta de la naturaleza. Se comen frutos y en el Estado de Israel salen grupos de alumnos a festejar al aire libre y plantar árboles. es uno de los cuatro Rosh Hashanot (Años Nuevos) mencionados en el Mishnah, la base delTalmud.

Proteccion de la naturaleza:

Las diferentes organizaciones y cuerpos públicos que se establecieron para proteger y cuidar la naturaleza en el país, y mejorar el medio ambiente, junto con el Ministerio de Educación declararon que Tu Bishvat será «día del cuidado de la naturaleza», y la semana de Tu Bishvat como «la semana del cuidado de la naturaleza». Es costumbre pasear por diferentes lugares del país, sobre todo lugares problemáticos desde el punto de vista del cuidado de la naturaleza, y dedicarse con más amor al cuidado y protección de la naturaleza.

Las costumbres de las colectividades

Izmir – Se acostumbraba a reunir a todos los alumnos en la ciudad para recitar en conjunto 15 capítulos de Salmos en honor al día. El comer las frutas se asociaba con el bienestar del hogar y para bendición en el hogar. El dueño de casa bendecía sobre un pan de trigo, ya que el trigo representa la paz.

Como está escrito: «Ha impuesto la paz en las fronteras, te da en abundancia la grosura del trigo» (Salmos 147:14). El ama de casa lo hacía sobre la vina como está escrito «Tu mujer será como una vina fructífera». (Salmos 128:3). Los ninos bendecían sobre la oliva, como está escrito «Tus hijos serán como plata de olivo» (Salmo 128:3), y las ninas bendecían sobre las granas y nueces como está escrito «Gloriosa es la hija del rey dentro del palacio» (Salmos 45:14).

Babilonia – Era costumbre realizar una «bendición a los árboles», desde el comienzo del mes de Shvat se organizaban grupos que salían a los campos a bendecir a los árboles. Algunos pasaban todo el día en los campos. La fiesta era llamada tafkia el sgar – el florecimiento de los árboles.

India – Acostumbraban a festejar ese día como el día de Eliahu Hanavi. Una tradición judía-india cuenta, que el día 15 de Shvat se reveló Eliahu Hanavi en el kfar Andala cerca de Elishang en Konkan y por eso en su honor en ese día se leen los mismos poemas que se acostumbran a recitar a la salida del Shabat.

Jalab – En vísperas de la fiesta se acostumbraba a leer en la sinagoga los Diez Mandamientos en lengua árabe. Cada una de los mandamientos era vendido y el comprador pagaba por él y luego lo leía.

Kurdistan – Según esta colectividad Tu bishvat es llamado «Idat Ilanai» (fiesta de los árboles), «Sinjat Ilanai» (alegría de los árboles) o «Mazdani Ilanai» (la novedad de los árboles). Se acostumbraba a aumentar en banquetes con frutas y se enviaban a los amigos.

Sefaradies en Jerusalem – Acostumbraban a ir en Tu bshvat a las tumbas de los Sanedrin y de Shimon el tzadik, también visitaban Ein Roguel y se ubicaban a la sombra de los frescos árboles.

Cabalistas – En Tzfat acostumbraban a dirigirse a la cueva de Rashbi en Pekihin, y realizar un acto de recolección de algarrobos del árbol que se encuentra la entrada de la cueva.

En Persia – Era la fiesta de los consuegros. Además de la costumbre de realizar un acto en el cual comen frutas aquellas personas que hicieron una promesa o falleció alguien cercano, los consuegros se enviaban «envíos de frutas» mutuamente.

Los jasidim – Acostumbraban a usar ropa festiva para este acontecimiento. Los dirigentes acostumbraban a realizar grandes banquetes por la noche y por el día de Tu Bishvat. En el «jeder» el maestro relataba a sus alumnos acerca de las grandezas de la tierra de Israel y la calidad de las frutas.

Tu bishvat: la fiesta de las plantaciones y el Keren Kayemet Leisrael

Todos los años, cuando llega Tu Bishvat, decenas de miles de niños y adultos en Israel toman parte en la Fiesta de las Plantaciones auspiciada por el Keren Kayemet LeIsrael. En su transcurso se plantan numerosos retoños en los bosques, forestas y parques del KKL. Con el paso del tiempo habrán de crecer hasta convertirse en los árboles que rodean nuestro país con un cinturón de fresco verdor.

Asimismo, quienes llevan a cabo las plantaciones pueden tomar parte activa en la configuración del paisaje y en la preservación de la naturaleza israelí. Cuando un niño observa el crecimiento de un árbol, sus esperanzas y deseos refuerzan su sensibilidad hacia el medio ambiente. También aumenta su sensación de pertenencia al país.

La costumbre de las plantaciones data de poco tiempo atrás, y se inició con las motivaciones modernas de quienes se establecían en el país.
