Tras dos años en cautiverio solicitó su reincorporación a las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel
Matan Angrest, un superviviente de Hamás, liberado a principios de esta semana mediante un acuerdo con el grupo terrorista Hamás, solicitó al Jefe del Estado Mayor de las FDI, Eyal Zamir, su reincorporación como soldado en servicio activo.
La solicitud se realizó durante una reunión celebrada esta semana en el Hospital Ichilov, donde Zamir visitó a los soldados que regresaron en virtud del acuerdo.
El miércoles por la noche, Zamir llegó al hospital, donde se reunió con los soldados Nimrod Cohen y Matan Angrest, ambos secuestrados durante la masacre del 7 de octubre y que regresaron a Israel tras dos años de cautiverio de Hamás, según Enlace Judío.
Según un informe de Yedioth Ahronoth, Angrest comunicó al Jefe de Estado Mayor que deseaba regresar a las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI): “Zamir lo miró de arriba abajo con una sonrisa. ‘Si es así’, dijo, ‘volverás al entrenamiento’. ‘No’, respondió Angrest. ‘Quiero volver a la actividad operativa’”.
El Jefe de Estado Mayor le devolvió a Matan su boina del Cuerpo Blindado y lo abrazó.
“Me alegra mucho verte aquí, esto es increíble. No te apresures, necesitas procesar lo que has pasado”, dijo Zamir, según el informe.
“Durante todo este viaje, has estado en mi mente, y tu seguridad fue una consideración fundamental. No descansaremos hasta traer a todos los rehenes fallecidos de regreso a Israel“, prometió.
