La Shoa, los Delitos de Lesa Humanidad perpetrados durante la segunda guerra mundial y la infinidad de historias de sobrevivientes en todo el mundo, han generado una incalculable producción de libros, películas y documentales que han servido para testimoniar uno de los peores genocidios en toda la historia de la humanidad: 50 millones de muertos, algunos dicen 60, otros aún más. Podemos informarnos exhaustivamente acerca de los acontecimientos históricos del siglo XX a traves de todos los medios que se encuentran a nuestro fácil alcance. Sin embargo ¿como comprender la verdadera dimensión del horror? ¿Como transmitir la importancia de la memoria en la construcción social de nuestro presente cuando las heridas del pasado aún siguen sangrando : En Bielorrusia fueron encontradas más de 1000 víctimas del Holocausto en una fosa común luego de 70 años ; una historiadora, madre de un chico con autismo, revela la verdad acerca del célebre Pediatra Hans Asperger, que fue un nazi exterminador de niños; el negacionismo de Polonia en la participación del exterminio de judíos; el crecimiento del antisemitismo en Europa y en el mundo, con tumbas profanadas y exposiciones con fotos de sobrevivientes de la Shoa vandalizadas , y tantas expresiones de vanalizacion del Holocausto…
¿Como adentrarnos en la comprensión de la tragedia de la condición humana? Sin duda mi respuesta es, a traves del arte. Estuve como espectadora en el Ciclo de Documentales sobre el Holocausto , en el que pudimos ver películas de 4 realizadores argentinos: Embajadores de la Memoria de Jose Finkelstein ( experiencia de alumnos de Ort en Marcha por la Vida) La Memoria y Despues de Eduardo Feller, 818 Tong Shan Road de Marlene Lievendag, y Los Ultimos Testigos de Bernardo Kononovich. Particularizar en cada uno de los aspectos de la vida de los sobrevivientes que son los protagonistas de estos documentales , nos hace dimensionar y comprender cuestiones básicamente humanas como el hambre, el frio, el terror, la fortaleza hasta limites impensados del ser humano, el dolor por la perdida violenta de los seres queridos, ver el sufrimiento de esos familiares, el despojo de la dignidad y tantas otras cosas que somos incapaces de comprender e imaginar desde el calor de nuestros hogares.
Quise hacer mi propio aporte desde el arte a la preservación de la memoria, con mi obra dramática de teatro musical “Berlín en Buenos Aires”. Una historia de ficción en el marco de la Argentina de 1946. Una historia de amor entre dos artistas alemanes que se conocieron cuando el Nacionalsocialismo todavía no había atravesado y condicionado sus vidas para siempre. Luego de la caída de Berlin llegan a Buenos Aires y entran a trabajar dentro del servicio domestico en la mansión del magnate alemán Ludwing Freude. Hanns intenta recuperar sus vidas como artistas, pero Helga que siendo judía sobrevivio al exterminio gracias a que Hanns le cambio la identidad, no puede seguir viviendo sin saber lo que le paso a su familia y sin recuperar su verdadera identidad. Los alcances metafóricos de una historia de ficción son impensados. Nos hemos encontrado con devoluciones de espectadores que nos han dicho literalmente : “ nos contaste la historia de nuestra madre”, o “ me contaste la historia de mi vida”. En realidad es la historia de todos los inmigrantes e hijos de inmigrantes que han encontrado cobijo en nuestra querida y controvertida Argentina .
Nuestra comunidad cuenta con personalidades que desde el ámbito del periodismo y la cultura hacen un invalorable trabajo en la preservación de la memoria, como mi querida amiga Martha Wolff que con sus libros y documentales se suma al pedido de todos los sobrevivientes: No olvidar.
