La Real Academia Española ya habla Sefardí

Aprobó por unanimidad la creación de la Academia del Judeoespañol en Israel               

“Se trata de la culminación de un proceso muy relevante por razones históricas, lingüísticas y culturales”, aseguran desde la Real Academia Española, que en su pleno de ayer aprobó por unanimidad la constitución de la Academia Nacional del Judeoespañol en Israel como correspondiente de la RAE, toda vez que el estado israelí ha aceptado. Su director, Santiago Muñoz Machado, que aludió al “carácter histórico de reparar una catástrofe histórica como la expulsión de los judíos de 1492”, les hacía llegar a todos los compañeros académicos correspondientes en Israel una “afectuosa felicitación”.

Y es que como aseguró ayer Muñoz Machado, “el ladino es una lengua de gran valor y riqueza, que se ha conservado a pesar de todas las dificultades y batallas que ha sufrido”. Sin embargo, el proceso de creación de la Academia Nacional del Judeoespañol, iniciado en Madrid con un acuerdo alcanzado el pasado febrero, ratificado por la dirección de la RAE y los académicos correspondientes de Israel: Shmuel Refael Vivante, Aldina Quintana, Eleazar Gutwirth, Moisés Orfali, Ora R. Schwarzwald, Jacob Luis Bentolila, Ruth Viviana Fine y Moshe Shaul, se ha dilatado en el tiempo debido a las particulares características del judeoespañol, que ha servido como elemento identificador de la cultura sefardí.

De este modo, al diálogo con el gobierno de Israel, común a otros proyectos similares, se suma el hecho de que se trata de un país donde esta lengua es minoritaria y cuenta ya con una Autoridad Nacional del Ladino (Ladinar quiere decir tomar los textos escritos en hebreo antiguo y reescribirlos de nuevo con letras hebreas, pero en español).

Como vaticinó Darío Villanueva, exdirector de la Academia y uno de los grandes impulsores del proyecto, cuando en febrero del año pasado se aprobó la creación del organismo del Judeoespañol, la nueva institución puede incorporarse ahora a la Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española (Asale) justo a tiempo para la próxima reunión de la entidad, que se celebrará en Sevilla entre el 4 y el 8 de noviembre. A lo largo del encuentro será ratificada como miembro de la asociación, cumpliendo lo que decía Villanueva, “de esta forma la ASALE podrá considerarse perfecta y cerrada, ya que cubrirá, con sus veinticuatro corporaciones, todo el espectro de la hispanidad”.
