Rey Felipe de España: «Setenta y cinco años después, el mundo no olvida, recuerda y se compromete a estar alerta, Leolam lo od, nunca más»

El Rey de España ha advertido esta noche en Jerusalén de que «la barbarie puede crecer cuando menos se espera», y ha afirmado que «los pueblos no pueden mostrar una mayor temeridad que cuando piensan que están por encima de los demás, cuando se sienten con derecho a discriminar, a tolerar la intolerancia o a promover el resentimiento contra los demás, ya sea con fines políticos, por extremismo religioso o por odio racial».

Don Felipe ha lanzado esta advertencia ante los más de cuarenta mandatarios de todo el mundo que se han desplazado a Jerusalén para asistir mañana, jueves, al Foro Mundial del Holocausto, un encuentro al máximo nivel, sin precedentes históricos, que conmemorará los 75 años de la liberación del campo de exterminio de Auschwitz y servirá de escenario para nuevas advertencias al mundo.

El Jefe del Estado español ha sido el único mandatario extranjero que ha intervenido en la cena que ha ofrecido el presidente de Israel, Reuven Rivlin, a los líderes invitados al Foro del Holocausto, y el Rey ha hablado en nombre de todos ellos. Ha sido una deferencia más del Estado de Israel con Don Felipe, que también tiene el título honorífico de Rey de Jerusalén y mantiene unas relaciones excelentes con Israel incluso desde antes de su proclamación. Don Felipe llegó por la tarde a Jerusalén y, antes de la cena, se reunió con el presidente de la Federación de Comunidades Judías de España, Isaac Querub. Mañana, antes del Foro del Holocausto mantendrá una bilateral con el presidente de Israel.

«Setenta y cinco años después, el mundo no olvida, el mundo todavía recuerda y se compromete a estar alerta», afirmó durante la cena el Rey, que pronunció las palabras en inglés y las terminó con un «nunca más» en hebreo: «Leolám lo od».
