“Poco ortodoxa” es más de las películas que muestran realidades intrínsecas de la comunidad judía ortodoxa. Tanto ésta como varias del cine israelí se han ocupado de dar a conocer la vida sujeta al cumplimiento estricto de la religión entendida como mandato.
El cine israelí como gran explorador de costumbres ha abierto la posibilidad ser testigo de conflictos que se producen dentro de ese grupo así como sus alegrías y vida cotidiana siempre regida por su fe y obediencia absoluta. También ha tenido la valentía revelar sus problemáticas y rencillas internas, sobre todo respecto al mundo de la mujer. El destino de ella es casarse y tener hijos como prioritario junto a un hombre al que le presenta la misma ortodoxia para preservar la continuidad judía.
En “Poco ortodoxa”, película que acaba de salir, basada en un libro autobiográfico y dirigida por una mujer y junto a un equipo femenino, su título lo dice todo. Una joven de uno de los barrios más ortodoxos de Nueva York con una historia abandónica de parte de su madre y criada por su abuela, al igual que a todas las chicas casaderas le consiguen un novio. La escena en la que las mujeres de la futura familia la inspeccionan habla de aceptación o rechazo, luego su admisión y presentación de ambos que termina en boda. De allí en más esa esposa, que amaba algo más que su grupo humano, empieza a tener grandes conflictos entre su sexualidad que pasa a ser más pública que privada y su placer por otras cosas que no son iguales a las demás mujeres de su entorno.
Esa señora sin equipaje y con plata que vende las joyas que le habían regalado para la boda, parte a Berlín donde vive su madre biológica. Berlín simboliza un mundo abierto a la sorpresa de lo desconocido, su apertura al mecanismo de una sociedad abierta que le ofrece todo desde la aceptación hasta el rechazo. Simultáneamente su congregación, esposo y un primo van a rescatarla. Ella que en su peregrinar se topa con la variedad humana de religiones, razas, diversiones y su musa inspiradora la música junto a su maternidad descubierta no renunciando a su libertad siguiendo el camino que eligió.
Lo interesante es que todo esto tiene lugar en Berlín donde entre su encuentro con una israelí le habla de perdonar y no olvidar para seguir viviendo y como contraparte, el primo de su esposo quien lo acompaña para encontrarla, representa las debilidades de un hombre como todos, le señala que está donde asesinaron a su pueblo y que debe volver para tener hijos y compensar a los que mataron los nazis.
“Poco ortodoxa” es una película valiente que habla de elecciones de vida.
