Concurso iraní de caricaturas para ver quién banaliza más el Holocausto

Dos días antes de la conmemoración internacional del Holocausto, el canal HispanTV (en español), del ente de Radiodifusión de la República Islámicade Irán(IRIB; Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting), anunciaba que: “Irán convoca a celebrar la segunda competición de las caricaturas del ‘holocausto’, con el fin de determinar ‘las fronteras de la libertad de expresión’, según ha informado este domingo, la agencia iraní de noticias ‘Farsnews’.

‘El torneo pondrá en competición las obras artísticas de todo el mundo sobre el polémico holocausto, y con el fin de desafiar la honestidad de los países occidentales sobre la libertad de expresión’, según ha informado, Mohamadreza Zaeri, el responsable de esta competición internacional, que tendrá lugar en Teherán, la capital persa”.

Es decir, el “torneo” (cuya la primera edición se celebró hace 10 años) – que considera al Holocausto como un hecho “polémico” (al punto que entrecomilla la palabra Holocausto) – funcionará, básicamente, como una suerte de revancha contra las caricaturas de Mahoma. Eso sí, ofendiendo y atacando a los judíos y su memoria.

De hecho, la cadena indicaba que:

“Zaeri también ha cuestionado las afirmaciones de algunos dirigentes occidentales sobre las caricaturas blasfemas publicadas sobre el Profeta del Islam (P), al mismo tiempo que censuran enconadamente cualquier trivialización del holocausto nazi”.

Zaeri mezcla caricaturas para confundir conceptos: una cosa es la crítica a una cuestión ideológica puntual; y otra bien distinta, como en el caso del Holocausto, es negar o banalizar un suceso histórico atroz muy bien documentado que supuso el asesinato (como “solución final” a la “cuestión judía”; es decir, la eliminación de un Pueblo) sistemático y a escala industrial de seres humanos. Trivializar (quitar importancia) – palabra que justamente utiliza Zaeri – el Holocausto es, entonces, ofender, insultar, difamar, mentir; y en ningún caso puede considerarse una crítica (es decir, un juicio o un examen sobre algo).

La historia de la negación del Holocausto por parte del liderazgo iraní es larga y tupida.

Según un artículo publicado el 25 de abril de 2014 por el Wall Street Journal:

“El revisionismo del Holocausto es parte de la resistencia del Sr. Jamenei a un mundo organizado alrededor de las normas y la historia occidentales. […] [Y dicho revisionismo] impregna y define al régimen iraní”.

Por su parte, la BBC señalaba en octubre de 2013 que cuando Mahmoud Ahmadinejad era presidente, eran reiteradas sus declaraciones poniendo en duda la escala del Hocolcausto, o, directamente, poniendo en duda su acaecimiento.

E indicaba que:

“La nueva administración, bajo Hassan Rouhani, ha tomado una línea más blanda, pero, como explica Bozorgmehr Sharafedin, de la BBC Persa, la posición de Irán respecto del Holocausto continúa siendo controvertida”.

En este sentido, cabe aclarar que el analista de CAMERA Gilead Ini apuntaba que Chemi Shalev – periodista del diario israelí Ha’artez – señaló que, según los criterios establecidos por el Proyecto de Historia del Holocausto, “Rouhani podría ser aún considerado un negacionista del Holocausto, aunque mucho más blando que Ahmadinejad”.

Negar el Holocausto y amenazar con otro

A la vez que desde el liderazgo iraní preconiza la negación del Holocausto perpetrado por los nazis, promueve otro Holocausto más contra los judíos. Porque no se trata sólo de Israel…

Un extenso y documentado informe del Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) en el que se explican las raíces del antisemitismo en Irán y la incorporación de elementos del antisemitismo europeo comunes en siglo XIX y a principios del XX, decía que es posible identificar mensajes antisemitas provenientes de altos funcionarios y de los medios iraníes más importantes. Y puntualizaba que:

“Estos mensajes típicamente condenan a los judíos en general, les atribuyen características negativas únicas y los representan como la eterna fuerza del mal y la raíz del mal en el mundo desde la antigüedad – percepciones que tienen sus raíces teológicas y psicológicas en las tradiciones islámicas tempranas”.

En este marco, se “entienden” (en el sentido de tener una idea clara de las cosas) las constantes amenazas lanzadas desde el liderazgo iraní contra el único Estado judío.

En Octubre de 2005, el New York Times informaba que el presidente Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dijo que Israel debe ser “borrado del mapa”.

En tanto, en abril de 2014, el Jerusalem Post apuntaba que:

“El líder supremo de Irán, el Ayatolá Ali Jamenei prometió el viernes que ‘el régimen sionista y sus partidarios estarán, un día, extintos’”.

Mientras que según refería MEMRI, el 17 de diciembre de 2014, “funcionarios iraníes, principalmente del Cuerpo de la Guardia Revolucionaria Islámica (IRGC por sus siglas en inglés), un corto período de seis semanas intensificaron significativamente sus llamados para aniquilar a Israel”.

Podría pensarse – no sin cierta voluntariedad – que se trata de “mera retórica para consumo interno…”

Para Jean-François Gaudreault-DesBiens, Profesor Asistente en la Facultad de Derecho e Instituto de Derecho Comparativo de la Universidad Mc Gill, por ejemplo, no es así. En su trabajo From Sisyphus’s Dilemma to Sisyphu’s Duty? A Meditation on the Regulation of Hate Propaganda in Relation to Hate Crimes and Genocide dice que lo que a menudo conduce a los crímenes de odio y al genocidio es, precisamente, el uso de discursos de odio y su naturaleza sistemática.

Pero, es que, además, en la Argentina, la Unidad de Investigación de la Oficina del Fiscal General redactó un informe (25 de octubre de 2006) – firmado por el Fiscal General Alberto Nisman, el Fiscal de Distrito Marcelo Martínez Burgos y el Secretario General de la Oficina del Fiscal General, Hernán Longo – en el que señalaba que el atentado (18 de julio de 1994; que dejó un saldo de 85 muertos) contra la sede de la AMIA (la asociación mutual judía en Buenos Aires) fue llevado a cabo por la organización terrorista libanesa Hezbollah por orden de las más altas autoridades del gobierno iraní, y con el apoyo local de diplomáticos iraníes que estaban acreditados en la Argentina. A la vez que aclaraban que ello no excluye la posibilidad de que otras personas estuviesen involucradas en el atentado.

Por esto, llama poderosamente la atención la escasa o nula cobertura que se le da a un “torneo o competencia” de caricaturas como el organizado en Irán; donde la consigna parece ser: “a ver quién estigmatiza y degrada más al judío”.
