El domingo por la mañana, el presidente, Reuven Rivlin realizó una una llamada de condolencia a la familia del sargento Amit Ben Yigal Z»L. El soldado fue asesinado en un servicio operativo en Kfar Yabed, el martes 12 de mayo. Rivlin estuvo acompañado en su visita por el presidente de Yad Labanim, Eli Ben-Shem.

El presidente escuchó a Baruch hablar sobre su hijo Amit: “Estuve con él durante tantas ceremonias, y en Har Herzl donde me dijo: ‘Papá, voy a ser un soldado destacado en la ceremonia en Beit HaNasi’, y ¿Quién hubiera creído que usted, señor Presidente, está aquí para consolarnos con su fallecimiento?”.
El padre de Amit le mostró una foto de su hijo con el presidente en un evento juntos. “Cómo desearía haber venido a sus celebraciones, a su boda”, dijo el presidente a la familia, “pero hoy estoy aquí y solo puedo decirles que siento la magnitud de su pérdida, la fuerza de su orgullo. y la profundidad de tu dolor.
