Los máximos referentes en bioética de las grandes religiones monoteístas en Argentina, firmaron un documento unificando criterios, fundamentos y acciones a tomar frente al triage en la pandemia Covid-19.
Es la primera vez en la historia del país que prestigiosos bioeticistas del judaísmo, cristianismo e islam, establecen una declaración conjunta académica no teológica en esta materia.
Este documento manifiesta cuáles son las acciones a tomar y sus fundamentos para una justa y óptima planificación y asignación de recursos sanitarios vitales, pero insuficientes, ante una saturación de casos potencialmente mortales. Situación donde además concurre la urgencia, el hacinamiento más la angustia física y psicológica.
Desde el Instituto de Bioética de la UCA se convocó al Rab. Dr. Fishel Szlajen por el Judaísmo; el Pbro. Lic. Rubén Revello por el Catolicismo; el Imam Marwan Sarwar Gill por el Islam; al Pr. Lic. Gabriel Ballerini por las Iglesias Evangélicas, y al Élder Mg. Benjamín De Hoyos Estrada por la Iglesia de Jesucristo SUD, para la elaboración y firma de este histórico documento.
“…hemos decidido realizar esta declaración conjunta de manera que resulte un aporte en estos tiempos de pandemia e incertidumbre, sea para toda persona que comparte nuestra mirada, sea para toda persona de buena voluntad que quiera abrirse al diálogo.” Resalta el documento.
La relevancia del mismo radica en la conjunción de religiones para las normas bioéticas y sus prácticas ante estas situaciones límite, asegurando el cumplimiento de los principios éticos fundamentales también compartidos por la ciencia. Este documento resulta imprescindible a la luz de la creciente cantidad de casos Covid 19 en Argentina y la experiencia en otros países donde se han abandonado a personas a su suerte, destinando los recursos vitales a otros en función de su edad o calidad de vida, utilizando criterios reñidos con los principios humanitarios.
Dada su trascendencia, algunos diputados ya lo han presentado como proyecto de ley 2094D2020, para que tome estado parlamentario.
