En la mañana del viernes el Ministerio de Salud de Israel informó que en las últimas 24 horas registró 1.107 casos nuevos de coronavirus. Esto implica un récord de contagios: es la primera vez desde el inicio de la pandemia que el país supera la barrera de mil nuevos pacientes diarios.
Así, el número de israelíes con el virus activo en sus cuerpos ascendió a 9.618. Se encuentran hospitalizadas 70 en grave estado y 27 de ellos con asistencia respiratoria.

Producto de este rebrote, el jueves a la noche el primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu brindó una conferencia de prensa especia. En la misma anunció nuevas pautas de restricciones de circulación: un límite máximo de 20 personas en espacios cerrados y de hasta 50 en bares y salones de eventos.
«Los datos no dejan opción, volvemos a las restricciones», afirmó Netanyahu. Reiteró a la ciudadanía la importancia del distanciamiento social para evitar contagios y nuevos obstáculos a la reactivación económica. «No quiero regresar al cierre hermético que ya vivimos», indicó.
La cantidad de testeos de COVID-19 durante el jueves también alcanzó un récord de 24.000, con una tasa de positivos alta: 4,5% de las personas examinadas estaban infectadas.
En relación la semana pasada, se sumaron 24 pacientes con síntomas graves de la enfermedad y murieron nueve personas, lo que eleva a 325 la lista de fallecimientos por coronavirus desde el comienzo de la pandemia.
